Newbie seeks Japanese opponent - preferably not an expert - for my first long PBEM game. Hopefully we can learn together.

Hi Mathew - I've been toying with the idea of starting up a second PBEM as the Japanese player. I already have one going as the Allied player and we're into May '42. Having a lot of fun with that one but looking for a little more PBEM activity.

I'd be looking for 1 day turns. I can do about one turn per day, maybe a little more on weekends. No mods. Can I talk you into upgrading to 1.602?

What is the difference between 1.6 and 1.602?
I only get my patches from matrix and it says it is the latest patch available.

It is a beta patch and it fixed several annoying items in v1.6. I think you normally get these from the Betapatch Forum - it's been so long since I upgraded that I can't remember. My e-mail opponent wants to wait for upgrade to the next official version (1.8?) so I'm in wait mode until that goes public. LEt me poke around a little bit over there and see if I can locate it. I'm sure if I can find it there's also a list of what exactly it does...check back with you here in a day or so.

Ok - I'll look you up when the next 'official' version is out and see if you're still looking for a Japanese PBEM opponent, or want to take on another PBEM game...
