A Loss

Post by Wild Bill »

Massimo "Mad Italian" Rocca wrote me today to advise of his Father passing away. We know that this is an inevitability for all of us, but the pain and grief of loss when it happens, especially to those we know, is hard to take.

This may seem off topic, but much of my work would never be what it was were it not for Massimo. He has been a loyal play tester and worked with me in design of scenarios and campaigns with Steel Panthers, Combat Mission, Squad Battles (HPS) and many other independant projects, including this latest Deadly Diversion Campaign.

He is a fine man, great tester and very close friend, though we've never met in person.

I'm sure you'll want to remember Massimo and his family in their hour of grief.

Massimo, accept our deepest sympathies during this painful time. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Rest in peace, and although I cannot pray for him, I will try to send positive vibes his way....

While interviewing an anonymous US SF soldier, a Reuters News agent asked the soldier what he felt when sniping members of Al Quaeda in Afghanistan.
The soldier shrugged and replied, "Recoil."

My sincerest condolences go to Massimo and his family. I know what it's like to lose a parent. The only good thing is that you draw closer to your siblings.
