Andrew Brown Map

Post by Mike Carroll »

Does anyone know if Andrew Brown's map is going to be updated for WPO along with updated scenario's. I know TankerAce likes the stock map, I would like the mod'd map better.

Should not be terribly difficult (for those who are not graphically challenged), just rename a couple of bases, take out some railroads etc. I would imagine updating the scenarios to work would take more work.

since i decided to look into mr Brown's map, for the curious here's what part of it looks like. i love the land graphics and the accuracy, but i am a little disappointed by the rivers which look hand-drawn, and the stock map does have much nicer shallow-to-deep sea borders. not to take away from Mr Brown's incredable amount of work and love he obviously put in to his great map! i'm sure after a full campaign game i could get used to this map very easily!

Everybody has their own tastes, I like this map much better than stock. Unfortunately the scenarios would have to be redone because the locations of bases have moved.

Another option would be Subchaser's that could probably just replace the stock map. Unless WPO has added bases not in WITP. Of course Mare Island would become San Fran on the map, and a couple of other changes.

AB freely admits that he is not an artist. The main purpose of his map is accuracy.

It would not take too much effort to convert WPO scenarios to the map. All that is needed is changing the hex co-ordinates of bases and LCUs in the locations table.
