AS/AD/AR Usage

Post by JagdFlanker »

i'v read quite a bit on the WitP forum about how AS/AD/AR's are used, but there was never any mention about exactly how to employ their "advantage". i just want to make sure that they are used properly!

so AS/AD/AR's increase a port size repair-wise (for certain units, of course, except AR's). in order for them to perform this service, should they be in a TF and docked, undocked, or disbanded in port?

same for AS/AD's replenishing torps - will it work docked and undocked? if disbanded will it supply the port with torps for disbanded DD/SS's, or SS/DD's must replenish at sea only from these ships? and they have *unlimited* torps? PH has a size 5 port, and i guess you need a size 8 port to replenish torps without an AS/AD. if i put an AS/AD perminantly in PH and never increase the port size, the AS/AD themselves never need torp replenishment for the entire 4 year war?

thanks! sometimes it's so simple it's complicated!

All the support ship types provide their services always, irrespective of whether or not they're disbanded into port, in a TF, or whatever. That's what makes it possible to put a support ship at a very small island, to use as a forward base for other units. It's most useful and applicable for AV's supporting float planes.
