How modified is your 'War in The Pacific' game?

A) All Stock
B) New Art/Graphics (ships, planes, combat screen backgrounds, etc.)
C) New Map Art (not expanded, covers same area as stock map)
D) New Scenarios (no database changes, doesn't go outside stock map)
E) Expanded Map
F) Expanded/Modified Scenarios (database changes, uses expanded map, etc. CHS, RHS, Nik Mods all belong here)
G) I Change Everything ASAP (aka "I think I'm still using the same executable, aren't I?")

More than one entry is required... I use both "B" and "C"... [;)]

I notice it's impossible to submit a reply that pertains to CHS with AB non-expanded map (new art, new map art, new scenario). So, I used 'G'.

EDIT:

Fine, but I can't take the poll again!

That would have been "F". I listed CHS there. Consider "database changes, uses expanded map" to be "database changes and/or uses expanded map"

And thank you to Mogami for making this a poll for me.

Actually, I would be interested in greater moding (I am a B). However, after visiting some of the fan sites, I am still not certain how it all fits together and what is compatible with what. I suspect many others are in the same boat.

"B" and "C" for my WITP copy.
I tried CHS and it looked good, but I do not have time for another WITP game at the moment.

I have a question about the choices regarding maps. The only choices seem to be: "New Map Art", which seems to imply that only the art is changed, not the map data - which means something like Subchaser's map; or "Expanded Map". What does the "Expanded Map" choice mean? I have a map called the "Expanded map" which includes "off-map" areas, i.e. Aden and Panama. But I also have a "standard" map, which doesn't include these areas, but DOES include new map data - not just new map art.

So there are really three types of map mods:
[ol]
[*]Map art ONLY (still using stock map data). e.g. Subchaser's map.
[*]My "standard" map (new map data and map art - no "off-map" areas). Used for all converted official scenarios, pry's scenarios and converted Nik mod scenarios.
[*]My "expanded" map (new map data and map art - includes Aden and Panama). Used for CHS and CHS derivitives.
[/ol]

I am not sure which of these belongs in which category of the poll, but I assume that my numbers 1 and 2 belong in choice [C] of the poll. Is that correct?

Andrew
Information about my WitP map, and CHS, can be found on my WitP website

I'm slowly discovering some of the idiosyncracies of WitP trying to creat my own mod. There are just a lot of things that can go wrong. I wish the editor manual were a little more in depth about some of the special attributes of various slots such as which slots can support fully functional CVs and which can't.

If the map adds or removes islands or roads/railroads; changes amounts and/or locations of Oil/Resources/Supply; or otherwise changes the characteristics of hexes (as opposed to simply changing how they are displayed), the for purposes of this poll it should be "E" or "F" (depending on any additional changes). Make sense?

Sorry, I haven't tried to keep up with all the mods out there so I forgot about that. Maybe later we'll annoy Mogami into creating another poll listing the major mods out there. [;)]

Sorry about that, but usually polls limit how many letters you can put in to each "answer" so I was trying to keep it short.

Andrew, I considered your non-expanded map to fall under "C", even though it changes data as well. Since the other one mentions an expanded map, but not new map data, I assumed that new map art has to include new data...

I play the CHS adaption for the non-expanded map (with some of Elf's artistic improvements, ahem), thus B, C, and F is my answer.

I can't see an entry for "Modified scenario and database, no changes to any graphics or map".

Interesting that Around 80% of the people polled are playing a mod of some kind.

I want to wait a few more days before I make any observations, but there does seem to be a trend.

This would be 'F'. If it was a modified database and a modified map graphics it would be 'C' and 'F'. You are not limited to only one selection.
