MDB Browser and Editor

I was the last days not on board and did not know if Marauder has posted the link. It is a link to a MDB Browser and Editor. With this utility you can open the databases in the game and edit the values. So it is possible to change the league status. It is a little bit tricky so you should save your original file but until we get the first editor it should help.

You can open the databases with Micorosoft Access, too. Even when you receive error messages (so using Access 2000 or 2003) you can change the values in the tables (Thanks to Grumpus for that tip).

One aspect i tested was to reduce the numbers of draft rounds. It is possible. To do it:

1. Run the draft till to end of the round which should be the last.

2. Open the league databases and select the table "League_SeasonStatus".

3. Change the value of "Current Draft Status" to 20, 40, 45 or 65 (depends on number of active players in your league). The game thinks now the last round is completed.

Avoiding Draft and Training Camp.

Open again the table "League_SeasonStatus" and edit the "Current Draft Status" to 20, 40, 45 or 65 and change the entry of "Training Camp Comlete" form 0 to -1.

An editor would be welcome, the utlities are a little shaky. I have developed ratings for all the players in the NFL using 1994 stats. Would it be easier to create a league of fictional players and edit them with the calculated stats or create a league from scratch? I have started creating one from scratch and it will be a long haul.

I'm about to play around with Perl some, to see if I can access these databases that way. Not sure if it'll be possible. Thanks for the MDB link though, it'll help out just knowing the column names.
