Some positives

Post by nmleague »

Well after creating a league and spending alot of time trying to design some plays and having seeing alot of things that bothered me I decided to actually start simming my 1959 NFL league.

Just simmed the first week, the results are shown below, notice that scores seem pretty realistic. For some reason alot of teams did seem to go for 2 point conversions, as I was watching the score during simming alot of 6s popped up. The stats also were realistic, I think only 1-2 teams got over 300 yards total offense. Passing yards was reasonable, the top rusher for the week had a high of 73 yards, a few other were above 60. There were interceptions, one team had 3 vs their opponent.

This league is uses tweaked data file, tweaked the speed and speed range of some player, also I set the player generation level to college.

I have been trying to get more in game screen shots, but having a problem getting alot of black shots.

Simmed a second week, again the scores and stats were realistic. One team did have over 300 yards passing but that was the high. I thought I would check the season stats to see how things were looking. Im not sure if the season stats were showing the two games or if it was just the last game, looked like just the second game to me.

Here are some weird things. The reason that alot of 6s went up on the board isnt becuase teams are trying 2 point conversions, its because the kickers suck. Overall all the kickers seem to be hitting only about 20-40% of their PATs. One kicker was 0-4. I checked and the PAT line is the 2 yard line. So far I dont think their has been a fumble, when checking the individual rushing stats not one player that had rushes had a fumble, let alone lost any fumbles. In the stats I looked at, one game or two, the longest run from scrimage has been 5 yards, thats a problem. Also the longest reception has been 25 yards. Again this is with computers controlling all teams using the default 11 man play book.

The game is running fine no problems during the simming.

Third week simmed, again the scores and stats very realistic.

Problem, I checked this time and the stats just show the last game, not the season cumulative. Tried it both the season marked and with history marked.

Again not one fumble this week, also no sacks, not sure but there may not have been any sacks in the season.

Stats display problem is almost a show stopper to me right now. They are in the DB file though. (I checked [;)])

This is known. The season stats are being kept in the main database. This should be resolved in an update.
