I have some VB6 knowlege, but unless I can find some way to access the Database files in MF (I only have Access, not Access97) then I can't make much for untilities for the game. [:(]

Hey VCFL, I took your advice in another thread and am trying to use VB6 to show me what Feilds are in the Databases. It might take me a while though because it looks like there are several different Tables in each Database and its hard to get a bearing of things where you basically flying blind. [:(]

I have a simple utility to view the entire database. It also allows you to make changes too. If someone is willing to host it for me, I will upload it. I haven't tested it much, but it works fine on my pc's. [;)]

Hey VCFL, thanks for posting the Database info. They have been very helpful, and I just recently made a simple Utility to edit a few things in the "MainData.mdb" file. Sent it too fbmax.com right now.

I am a professional VB6 programmer. Tbird knows me from the utilities I have written for FP98. When I eventually purchase this game, I'll start writing utilities for it. I have all versions of Access from 97 - 2003 so an app to access/edit the games database will be a snap...

I downloaded Checker's DB Viewer and when I tried to run it I got the following message, "Component DBGRID32.OCX or one of its dependancies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid."

I do not know what this means. Is it something on my computer or something in the viewer?

From your desktop, go to Start menu, Run...

Type the following in the run box that pops up:

regsvr32 dbgrid32.ocx

A message box should pop up saying that it registered successfully. If not, you need to get the activex control from the author of the program...

Thanks for responding NCrawler. I have some vb experience, but I'm no expert. Porbably just enough to be dangerous. I look forward to seeing your work. [;)]

I have the activex cotrol. I should have included it in the zip file I guess. I'll do that later today for anyone who needs it.

Being dangerous is the name of the game.. :) At least the way that I code it is... I love ripping apart data files in binary mode and changing things. I just recently cracked the .boa format used for FP98 graphics and am hard at work writing a utility to re-import graphics. We can at least put a new face on FP98 when I finish... :)

I will probably buy MF this weekend and see what type of improvements can be made from a 3rd party utility perspective.

Thanks for the response to my question. This procedure did not work until I found and downloaded a file named gridfix.exe from http://www.loadammo.com/TechSupport/Issue1.htm. Once I ran that fix the proceure provided worked.

Agreed. I have been messing around with his early version of the BOA exporter, its awsome to finally be able to export the graphics out of Football Pro 98. I hope he is successful with the Import feature of his Utility because it would be awsome to import our own Artwork into Football pro 98.

I would be very interested in that utility when you get done. Is there any place you regularly post updates about it?

I uploaded it to fbmax.com. It now has the activex control with it so you can register it. It also has directions on how to register it.
