Chinese base supply

Post by niceguy2005 »

I notice that some Chinese bases never seem to have any supply. I have one base to the rear that very badly needs forts built, but there are only about 70 units of supply there. I have tried moving an HQ to the base, but this has had no effect. Any ideas what to do. There is a valid supply path to Chungking. Outside of airlifting in supply any ideas?

Not just any old HQ will do. It has to be a Command HQ.

Try putting lots of a/c and aviation support there. That ought to pull some supply.

Or, just start building the forts... Eventually, the AI should get the idea.

You can't really build forts when you have a chinese corp in a city with 30 supply points.

I also tried moving planes into the city. That didn't work either.

Same problem with China but with Japanese troops. When I move them just 2 hexes out of a base they are only at half of their supply demand and don´t fight like they should. Don´t know why, they´re on road or rail, the next base has 40000 supplies. Nothing helps. Enough HQs, support, etc. in the base and in the hex my troops are. Supply transfer in this game is one of the things that is broken the most! [8|]

Actually, I've noticed that the amout of supply displayed on the base screen may not be correct for some Chinese cities (particularly the southern ones). I've seen where the supply number was in the red (no forts or AF expasion should take place), but a few weeks later, the AF expanded (supply still in the red).

(* shrug *)

Try setting you forts to build, and re-check it in a week. See if they've progressed.

Supply transfer is a little strange. As allied in China the problem is that you probably don't have enough supply overall. A base will normally only tranfer supply if it is in the green. So if your bases are all yellow or red then nothing will move either to your units or to other bases.

Turn all replacements off and try to conserve supply in every way possible so that you have enough to transfer.

Sometimes it helps to move units out of your cities. Say for example that Chungking has 15 to 20 corps and a bunch of airgroups. The supply requirement for the city may be something like 20,000 which means it takes 40,000 sp is needed to be green. So you may have 35,000sp in Chungking that will never move.

So you move a bunch of units out of the city. The supply reqirement drops and suddenly Chungking with its 35,000sp is suddenly way in the green and so will send supply to other cities.
