BURMA

Over Rangoon I shot down 5 Oscar loosing only 1 P-40. It's a great result, because Bern attacked with 29 Oscar and I had only 6 P-40.
Unfortunately, the next attack, with 54 Sally and 36 Nate, caused the destruction of 7 P-40 on the ground. [:(]

MALAYA

I hit 1 AK with 2 bombs at Kuantan, with Blenheim.


BORNEO

1 bomb at 1 AP at Kuching.

DEI

Near Amboina, the TF leaded by PoW and R met a jap surf TF including 2 CL and 11 DD.
CL Boise heavily damaged: sys 41, flt 38, fires 13. She will go back to Koepang.
DD John Edwards, sys 61, flt 82, fires 35. Will go back to Brisbane.
No other important happened, only some hits on both sides, and I'm really disappointed.


CENT PAC

DD Mochizuki, hit by my carriers yesterday, sunk today.

The japs landed at the Shortlands and Buin.

CENT PAC

CL Katori and CL Kiso sunk today. I damaged them two days ago with my CV near Canton.
At Midway no sign of enemy landing. The islands are surrounded by SS. I detected radio trasmission 2 hex W. It could be the KB or the invasion fleet. We'll see.

SOUTH PAC

Today the japs started to land at Wallis I.
I will try a shock attack at Pago-Pago to kick off the jap from the island.
I have the 2. USMC division not so far, escorted by the CV Saratoga, but I am undecided where to unload. Where she will be more usefull? I could land in Canton and retake the island, or land in Pago-Pago or Suva, to secure them.

Singkawang falled today.

Shortlands I. captured today by the japs.
I'm sending a NZ Inf Bde to Noumea. Is the first unit that I can send there.

CENT PAC

Jap South Sea Det. started to land in Midway. Since many days the islands are under heavy attacks and I renounced to reinforce the base.
The first shock attack has been repulsed, and I inflicted 979 casualties to the japs, loosing 177 men.


SOUTH PAC

With surprise Bern landed and conquered Wallis I. , west of Pago-Pago.
I cannot intervene with my CV because they are low on fuel.
At Pago-Pago my troops attacked the landed jap and causing 131 casualties. My losses are of 16 men.


BORNEO

One of my SS torpedoed one jap AK, north of the island.


MALAYA

1 DD hit by my bombers of Singapore. The same aircrafts struck with 8 bombs 1 AK, and with 3 bombs 1 AP.
The japs landed at Port Blair, in the Andaman Is.
First small shock attack against Singapore, easily repulsed.
DD John Edwards, already damaged, sunk south of Amboina.


SW PAC

The fort at Rabaul has been reduced from 3 to 2, by the 2. jap Inf Div, while Buin has been captured.


BURMA

One jap unit reached Meiktila, and I think the next turn they will conquer the base.
The japan invasion path is Rangoon, Meitkila, Mandalay. In fact one other unit reached today Rangoon.

MALAYA

I'm attacking with every plane at my disposal the enemy ships anchored at malaya coast.
The losses are heavy: 9 a/c lost today. 2 AP damaged (1 heavily).
Japs attacked also Singapore, hitting one TK and destroying 8 aircrafts. 2 Zero shot down.


CENT PAC

The fort at Midway have been reduced to 2. The fall is near.


BURMA

Jap troops bombarded Rangoon. If Bern had attacked he would have conquered the base, because since weeks I've abandoned it. I think it's useless to defend Rangoon.
At north the japs conquered Meiktily and they can now march toward Mandalay.

SOUTH PAC

My troops are toasting the enemy but the japs are still fighting.

CV Yorktown is coming out from Panama Channel and is sailing toward PH.

In the South Pac the 2. USMC is a little more than one week from Canton I. I'm still undecided what to do with this unit. Landing at Canton I. where my recon spotted 2 units and 9'000 men, or go to Pago-Pago to reinforce the garrison?
Or, go to Noumea? I have some day to think about it.

In the DEI I have the ABD surface fleet, leaded by the PoW, at Kendari. I've spotted several jap TF. One of them E of Boela, with 7 CA, and another one SE of Morotai, with 8 CA and 1 CL. I know that the recon is not exactly but I send the ABDA force to investigate.

Today the japs start landing at Sorong, at the northern point of Papua.

HONG KONG

The fort has been reduced to 5.

BURMA

Rangoon, previously evacuated, is fallen.


In 5 days I'll receive some reinforcements in SF. Especially the 111. RCT that, togheter with some B.F. I'll dispatch in the Pacific. I think that Pago-Pago will be the destination. In alternative I can send the RCT to Palmyra.
I still have the 2. USMC div on board around Jarvis I.. The TF is escorted by the TF Saratoga. The problem is that I really don't know where KB is and I don't want to risk this precious unit. I would like anyway to land in Canton and retake it.


SW PAC

From NZ I'm sending the 2. NZ Bde to Noumea to reinforce the base.
One enemy TF is at Trau, (south of Lunga), heading S. I don't know if Luganville or Noumea could be the target.


SOUTH PAC

Jap invasion TF is at Abemama atoll, south of Tarawa. One BB is spotted as escort.
I have problem almost everywhere and for the moment is better to sit and wait, and not waiste my units.

One of my SS sunk with 2 torpedo one AK north of the island.
Another AK already damaged sunk S of Saigon.
DD Hatsuharu is damaged by one bomb.
Another AK damaged north of Brunei by another bomb.
My pilots have finally decided to fight, despite the heavy losses.

CENT PAC

Midway is bombarded by ships. 646 casualties. I think that I can count the hours for my garrison there.
I'm still undecided what to do with 2. USMC. I don't know where KB is and I don't want to risk. For the moment I go to the Fiji.


Today I take the decision to transfer a lot of planes, from Java and Singapore, to the remaining dutch bases in the DEI. I noted that Bern is confident and is sending trasnport TF with not much escort. I can try to attack them and inflict some losses.

The japs landed in Boela and occupied Sorong.


CHINA

My garrison in Hong Kong repulsed another attack. [:D]


USA

I started the loading of a B.F. to be transferred at Kiska. I don't go to Attu that will probably be one of the first enemy objective in the region.So from Kiska I can attack his ships while unloading.

I'm dispatching some subs in the Midway's waters. I hope that they can score some hits on the enemy TFs.

Since I have no signs of KB, Saratoga and the 2. USMC div are continuing to sail to the Fiji.

I'm sending the TF leaded by the PoW to Sorong. There is an enemy TF unloading troops. I hope to surprise the enemy transports.


SW PAC

I've spotted a TF at Reef I., in the Santa Cruz archipelago, heading SE. Sant Cruz could be the target, but also Funafuti, Nukufetau or also the Fiji. Another TF is at Irau, south of Lunga, also heading SE.



Bern is advancing , with metod and order. I can't stop hit, but maybe I can slow him and inflict him some losses.

The TF spotted yesterday at Reef I. is now at Luganville, and is unloading.

The 2. NZ Bde arrived today at Noumea and started to unload. Just in time, I say.

Big-E and Lex refueled and are now ready to fight. I send them at Pago-Pago.
I've decided to send Saratoga and the 2. USMC to Luganville. I hope that KB is not there.

I started the air raid with the 4E bombers, from India. My crews are training [;)]
I'm waiting RAF Aviation Unit coming from Middle East and after I will start seriously. By now no important damage on jap sites.

MALAYA

The air losses of the squadron based in Singapore are now too heavy. Even if they meet result against merchant ships. I have to close down Singapore afld.

Tarakan is fallen today, togheter with 2555 men.

Midway has been occupied yesterday by the japs.

SOUTH PAC

Enterprise and Lexington, on the way back to Pearl, are diverting to Papeete. There are some japs CV between Canton and Pago-Pago and they need to refuel.

Ok, I'm here. I missed a couple of days but I have a lot to do and not enough time to all the AAR.

SOUTH PAC

Bern has decided to occupy to cut off Australia from the West Coast. Today he has landed in Samoa Is, capturing Savaii.
In the last days he captured Koumac (New Caledonia), Luganville, Efate,

Today, for the firse time, I surprised him with my ships. The ABDA fleet, leaded by PoW and Repulse, attacked transport ships in Sorong, sinking 1 AV, 2 PG, 1 MSW and damaging 4 AP, 1 PG. CL Marblehead took 2 bombs but they did no damage.

Also another small surface fleet, comprising CL Danae and CL Durban attacked enemy ships in Sorong, sinking 2 MSW and damaging 2 AP, 2 PG and 1 MSW.

Both TF are now retairing.


Meanwhile CA Pensacola has been attacked south of Efate, and received 4 bombs. He's heavily damaged and he's now currently heading to Auckland.


All my CVs are now heading back to PH. I really don't know where is KB. It seems that he has divided the carriers, but I'm not sure. Until I have a clear idea of what is doing with his CVs I'll stay at PH.
On the West Coast I'm preparing inf units to retake all the islands lost in the south pac.

8 days since the last report.
Japan are continuing to advance in the South and SW Pacific.
I didn't post the report becuase a lack of time and because I don't have too much to do against him, so they were some boring days of retreats.

This is the situation.

SW PAC

New Guinea

Buna, Salamaua and Lae are in Jap hands. I think Finschafen will follow soon.
In PM I have 8 different units. The big one is the 30. AUS Bde. Other infantry units are Papuan Inf Bn, and a piece of two Independent Coy.
Two complete B.F. and a piece of other two, coming from PI.
The Afld is at 3, building for 4 size, and the support is 51 a/c.
I have a squadron of A-24, an half sq. of Hudson, a sq. of Wirraway and one of Catalina.
I will send more reinforcement asap, but by now I don't have so much PP to change HQ and I don't know if this decision would be good.

New Caledonia

Jap has occupied Koumac and now one unit is marching south, towards Noumea, were I have the 2. NZ Bde.

New Hebrides

Completely in jap's hands.

SOUTH PAC

This is the worst situation.
Japan conquered Funafuti, Savaii and Upolu. Pago-Pago will be the next target I think.
I dind't help those bases because KB were there. Anyway I'll go when the carriers will leave. The japanese landed with small infantry units. Maybe they reinforced by now, I don't now yet. Recon will be done soon.
Canton I. is also in enemy hands.
Two convoys have been spotted NE of Fiji. The archipelago will be attacked soon. I want to hold it but to be successeful I have to engage my carriers.


CENT PAC

Midway and Wake are fallen.
Now it's quiet. I'm trying to reinforce Palmyra. I have an afld of 4 size. I will transport there the 2. USMC division. Palmyra will become my stronghold in the cent pac.

My A-24 based at PM scored a couple of hits on two AK near Lae.

La Foa, in New Caledonia, is captured by the japs. Now they can continue to march towards Noumea.

The pressure in the South Pacific is continuing.

At the moment I've decided to send the 2. USMC form PH to Palmyra. The convoy sailed today.

The 111. RCT is unloading in Christmas I.
The 2. USMC is a few days now from Palmyra. Yorktown and Enterprise are covering the convoy.
Christmas-Fanning-Palmyra will be my main defensive line in the central Pacific.

CENT PAC

I've sent CL Richmond in a suicide mission to recon Midway with his scout plane. Today the CL has been attacked by a total of 34 Nell. 20 Nell damaged and no score. Now I know what Bern has in Midway: 27 Nell and 5 Zero.
The problem is that with my combat file Richmond escaped safely from the attack. But when I loaded the new turn, Richmond resulted sunk. [X(]

SOUTH PAC

A big jap TF, leaded by Hiei and Kirishima, attacked Suva port and sunk 1 MSW and 1 PG.
The japs are preparing to land there.

I'm unloading base force in Palmyra and Christmas I., to reinforce my main line of defense.
Soon dozens of bombers will arrive, because Palmyra is a size 4 and Christmas is at 3 but working on 4 size.
