Interesting...

Post by DuckofTindalos »

So I'm running another test of my WitP mod (12/7/41 turn) and I noticed something I haven't seen before.

Not all pre-defined Japanese task forces seem to receive the turn 1 speed bonus. I'd set seperate landing and bombardment tf's for Vigan, but only the landing tf arrived on 12/7; the bombardment tf made it about halfway from the Pescadores, whence it came.

Anybody else seen this?

Yes I've seen it. but forgot what caused it...perhaps op points...refueling etc.

Make sure the ships are fully fueled in the OOB, otherwise they'll waste Ops on first turn.

Well, ops points and fuel aren't the issue; both the Vigan bombardment TF (going from the Pescadores), and my Mersing cover TF (going from Camranh) make it about half-way to their targets, but still use exactly zero ops points.[&:]

I had this same thing happen to me when sending the KB to PH. It traveled as far a north of Midway. Its a very annoying thing.

Veeery peculiar; all my surface combat/bombardment TF's, bar one, failed to reach their destinations on 12/7/41. On a hunch, I went into the editor, and set their Retire and Reaction attributes to be similar to that single one, and now they work...[&:][&:][&:]
