Subscript out of range error

Post by ixxxiiixiv »

Hey folks,

Have installed the 1.092 patch, and the following has cropped up (for me anyway).

When scrolling through the play calls with the arrow buttons, twice I received this error (purple letters on a black screen):

"Subscript out of range in procedure modGame.SelectPlay. Press F9 to attempt to continue."

I was able to do so, but the third time I got an error that said something to the effect of "Error in Game. Press ESC to Quit."

By the way, things seem a bit more polished in this patch. I'm noticing the crowd noise actually reacting to what's happening on the field, and the play seems smoother overall. Keep it up!

What play book was this? Was it a standard play, punt, or field goal?

I got it several times today using the "Fun and Gun" playbook with standard plays.

Sorry, David, I'll pay more attention to the playbook and plays next time it happens. It happened again when I went back into the old saved game version I was playing, but I don't remember the actual play, although it was a Standard play. It perhaps may occur when you scroll to the end of the plays in a particular play set, and inadvertently click on a blank, black space instead of a play. I believe that's what happened this last time.

Clicking? So you're using a mouse then?

I guess you must have been using a mouse. When I ran though all the plays with a mouse and 'clicked' on a blank spot in the play listing I received the same error. I've now fixed that.

Well, good, David! Glad I found the error for you. I've been away from my computer, but yes, it was with the mouse.

In the latest patch I got a subscript out of range error when I tried to make a substitution. Clicked on the red guy and got the error. Hit F9 and the game went back to selecting the formation for me (as it always does when I substitute) and things went normal after that.
