14.7 Capturing Base Resources

Post by takacssteve »

Per design the IJN cannot obtain fuel or supplies from captured bases (except for stored items): Indonesia, Phillipines etc.

Isn't this the main reason they went to war? Oil Embargo.

Is it possible to include a toggle on/off button to provide this variant?

The basic scenario's have the production system turned off. It can be turned on, however, I think there is still some work that needs to be done on engines for airplanes and the building of ships etc.

At this time Japan was actually more interested in exploiting Manchuria and Korea. They still received a significant portion of their fuel from overseas (but the world was still happy to supply it), coal was plentiful in Manchuria and ships were only starting to covert to oil I think.

I am working on a scenario called the Great Pacific War which does not have the productin system turned on, but does take into account Manchuria's role in things.

That was the reason Japan went to war in WWII, but not here. And no, there's no toggle, it's all in the scenario set-up.

That said, there's some behind-the-scenes stuff going on about producing scenarios where the production system is turned on, which would make resources important again.
