The next CHS revision is inching closer, and I am posting a list of the changes made so far. Note that this list is not complete, and at least one of the changes - to the British AA - is possibly going to be reversed. The British AA may be represented in its proper discrete units, rather than merged with the base forces.
There are a few things left to do:
- Some more US Army revisions being done by AlaskanWarriot
- Finish new Japanese sub upgrades
- Possible redo of British AA
- Rearrangement of US high level command structure (see separate thread on this)
Note also that I intend on providing TWO CHS variants:
1 with standard data as is.
1 with a large subset of mods very similar to Nik's mods.
Finally, the following list of changes does not include the huge reworking of the IJA OOB and TO&E that Jwilkerson did. The details of those changes will be included in the scenario documentation.
Sorry about the very poor formatting, this was all cut & pasted from a HTML document.
I welcome any comments about these upcoming changes.

Changes in CHS Version 2.00
1.
Large numbers of disabled resource centres and oil centres have been added to
most of the bases in the mainland United States, as well as large numbers of
additional Heavy Industry centres (which are not disabled, but will not create
additional output until the disabled resource and oil centres are repaired). These
can be repaired during the course of the scenario, resulting in gradually increasing
amounts of supplies and fuel being generated for the United States as the scenario
progresses.
There is more than sufficient time in the scenario for all of the supplies
expended to repair the facilities to be replaced, so it does not make sense to leave
these additional facilities disabled.
The numbers and locations of the disabled resource/oil centres is as follows:

When all these centres are repaired - a process that will take about two years
- the additional output will be 6,140 fuel points and 11,565 supply points per day.
2.
The amount of spare resources generated in Australia have been reduced, to
ensure that the Allied player does not simply ship these excess resources to the USA
rather than repair the disabled resource centres located there. Supply produvtion
levels in Australia are retained, however, by locating daily supply output at major
Australian bases.
3.
US Army leaders (Genereals) have been revised. Those that did not exist, or
were not in the Pacific theatre, have been removed, and a few new leaders have been
added. IN addition, several leaders have had their ratings revised.
4.
The Japanese land OOB and TO&E has been extensively revised to make it more
accurate. Please see the scenario documentation for details.

New units are highlighted in green. All units arrive in San Francisco.
All of the infantry divisions, including the British and Canadian units, have
US Army equipment in their TO&E, as per US Army divisions, except squads. The 3rd
British Division uses late war British squads; the 6th Canadian Division uses British
and US squads as there is only one type of (early war) Canadian squad.
8.
There are many light and heavy British AA Regiments missing from the game. Due
to a shortage of free LCU slots in the database, these missing formations have not
been added as separate units. Instead, the weapons from these units have been added
to existing units - British base forces and CD units, with the exception of units in
Sarawak/Sabah.
The TO&E of these missing AA Regiments is as follows:
Unit Type
Number Missing
TO&E
Heavy AA (HAA) Regiment
5 at start
11 reinforcements
Three batteries of 8 x 3.7in AA guns each
Light AA (LAA) Regiment
1 at start

Three batteries of 18 x 40mm Bofors guns each
These AA units are broken up and distributed amongst the British LCUs as
follows:

Penang Fort and ther ISF base forces, in Malaya, retains the same AA armament
as in the official scenario.
As part of this reworking of the British AA units, the three existing
independent British AA units have been removed from the game: 48th Light AA Regiment
(Kota Bharu)
1st Burma Auxiliary AA Regiment (Mandalay)
8th Belfast Heavy AA Regiment (reinforcement)
In addition, to represent the numbers of AA guns present in Malaya at the start
of the war, and the fact that reinforcement AA units were subsequently shipped there
as reinforcements, the LAA batteries represented in the base forces all start at half
strength.
9.
Several Allied CD units have been combined when there were more of them in one
location. This was done partly to free up a number of LCU slots. In addition some
others, as well as several base forces, have been renamed and/or had their TO&Es

NEW UNIT
11.
The Japanese NLF units had their LCU formation entry (slot 932) cleared by
mistake, so that it was completely empty. Fixed.
12.
Australian CD units with faulty planning targets have been fixed.
13.
The load cost of Aviation Support has been increased from 10 to 20, to make it
the same as the load cost of all other support type devices.
14.
The build rate of the USMC Engineer Squad (device 330) has been restored from
11 to 21.
15.
The Vickers Mark VI tank (slot 481) was defined as an aircraft gun. Fixed.
16.
All ASW weapons have had their Range, Effect and Accuracy ratings - all
previously halved - returned to normal. The halving was originally done to reduce the
effectiveness of ASW attacks, but this has been addressed in the game code since the
1.7x patches.
17.
The Commonwealth rifle squad device now updates to a newer Commonwealth rifle
squad, rather than to an Indian light squad.
18.
All large CD gun devices have been relocated in the device table, to a slot
range in the 540+ area. This frees up device slots in both the Japanese and the
Allied parts of the device database.
19.
All unarmoured ships that previously had 5mm of deck and belt armour added,
such as AKs, TKs, most DDs etc, have had that armour removed.
20.
The following new Japanese submarine class is available:
Type Yu*:
Class 652
Available: 11/44
Endurance: 1500
Fuel: 9
Upgrade to: 652
Weapon 1: 37mm M1933 AA Gun (78), 1 x 1, All, Ammo 18
Other: Snorkel
* The Type Yu submarine class is a Japanese ARMY submarine class.
21.
US submarines now have air search radar available in refits. These radars are
short ranged and should provide a modest increase in protection vs enemy aircraft.
The two radar types added are:
SD Radar:
SV Radar:
The SD radar is part of the first 1942 submarine refits for the following
classes:
Perch, Salmon, Tambor, Gato, Narwhal, Argonaut (4/43), 'S' Class (4/43)
The SV radar is part of the first 1944 submarine refits for the following
classes:
Tench, Balao, Gato
22.
British submarines now have air search radar available in refits. This radar is
short ranged and should provide a modest increase in protection vs enemy aircraft.
The radar types added are:
Type 291 Radar:
The Type 291 Radar is part of the 1943 refits for the following classes:
KXIV, British 'T' Class, British 'S' Class
23.
The "Snorkel" device has been added for use by submarines, which is represented
as a limited effectiveness air search radar. The Dutch O19 class submarine was fitted
with a Snorkel, and it is also available for some later Japanese submarines and
submarine refits as follows:
The Snorkel is added to the following Allied classes (from the start of the
game):
O19
The Snorkel is available in the following Japanese classes:
Type STo
Type ST
Type STS
The Snorkel is also available in the following new Japanese submarine refits:
B3/B4 class - 440701
C3/C4 class - 440301
24.
The Japanese CV Shinano can now be completed as a BB instead of a CV, if the
Japanese player wishes. This is achieved by adding a second Shinano to the ship
database, as a Yamato class BB, along with the use of a compulsory house rule:
COMPULSORY Shinano House Rule:
The construction of at least one of the two Shinano ships MUST always be
halted. The Japanese player is only permitted to be building ONE of the ships at any
time. The player may halt both ships if they wish, or switch contstruction between
the two ships at any time as long as one of them remains halted. If by some error
BOTH Shinanos are launched, then BOTH must be scuttled immediately as soon as this is
discovered by either player.
In addition to this, the CV version of the Shinano has been modified as
follows:
Aircraft capacity increased to 96
Aircraft Ordnance increased to 675
25.

Daily Oil: 300*
* The Soviet Union now receives 600 daily oil: 300 at Krasnoyarsk, and 300 at
Komsomolsk. The latter represents the oil from Okha that was piped to Komsomolsk via
pipeline (not able to be represented). The Japanese also receive 100 Daily Oil at the
base of Shikuka on Sakhalin, to represent the Okha oil concessions that they extraced
up unti 1944. To take into account these changes, the size of the Okha oil field has
been considerably reduced.
Taking into account these Soviet Daily Oil supplies, there is enough oil to
supply about 50% of the Soviet on-map Heavy Industry. The other 50% capacity is
considered to be supplied from, and have its output shipped to, the European Soviet
Union.
62.
Davao (43,61) has been changed from port size(SPS) of 2(2) to 4(2), and
airfield SPS has been increased from 1 to 2. Davao was the most significant port on
Mindanao.
63.
The bases of Sarmi (593) and Aru Island (565) have been swapped in the
database, so that Sarmi is now malarial and Aru Island is not. This results in all
bases in Papua New Guinea being malarial.
64.
