Torp Bombers

Post by JagdFlanker »

reading a WitP AAR i noticed that PzB has his torp bombers attack at 200ft - however no matter what i try i can only get 100ft or 1000ft. am i missing something? i was hoping to get the torp bombers in PH to naval recon at 200ft so if they find something there's a chance they might use torps on it, but i have no experience with air units in the game so mabe it'd be more practical to put them at 1000ft and let them recon only w/o attacking?

Funny, I couldn't set them at 200 either.

Keep them at 100 so that when they finally have a chance, they do attack.

You have (Cautionaries 1.5) a zillion of unarmed aircraft that can do the recon jobs - MS-1s, for example. Or blimps. Or those BB-intended aircraft.

Torp bombers drop to 200ft when making their run regardless of their assigned altitude if they are loaded with torps.

thanks! i'm not sure it would have been a good idea to set them to 100ft to recon as that likely limits their 'view', but i also would like them to do something if they spot a ship - if they actually do carry torps when they recon...
