Quiet couple of Days as the initial assault on Java peters out. Java and the remainder of the DEI are going to be ever increasingly difficult to take out as more and more resources are becoming available for its defence. The situation is nearing the point where it may even be capable of withstanding enemy attacks supported by KB.

With KB off the Java coast pounding the Javanese airbases, Bill lands more troops and supply at Merak. Of course the DRACONIAN ZOC rules have screwed me somewhat at Merak (the helpless Japanese units being pounded at Batavia are somehow able to prevent a withdrawl from Merak to Batavia) but depending on how TIMMY the wunder AI does with any forced retreat, I should be OK for now.

Not much happening outside the DEI right now, given all Japan's carriers appear to be in the Java Sea.

Bill has secured a beachead on Java with the help of KB. KB lost a fair amount of planes, as did his LBA in doing so, but ya gotta break a few eggs...

The defeat at Merak throws the defenders 130 miles into the jungle (LOL...this has to be the worst land model ever...critical acclaim and all) and what took 1 day to get into will take a minimum of a month to get out of.[8|][:@] On top of this, the units are now marching the wrong way and the player can't do squat about it! Grrr This defeat, of course because the Japanese somehow maintain the first move despite being pinned on the beaches, opened the door for the crumpled Japanese units at Batavia to retreat to Merak.

KB has disappeared...no doubt to rearm.

Bill and I continue to clip along at a frantic pace. Bang...zoom, the Japanese are back in Batavia! Things are not looking good. I should have left Merak earlier (given it up basically) in order to avoid the crap land model issues but I figured I'd be able to force a retreat with 20-1 plus odds at Batavia...oh yeah, forgot the model is broken in non base or non friendly base hexes. So it goes... Bill needed a break after losing so many transports and he has it. I have to hand it to him...he does not get flusterred...he just keeps up the pressure. Great game so far despite all the game related problems.

All is pretty much routine everywhere else...Java is the hotspot for sure.

I am wondering if in the next patch if the supply movement by ship, will be improved. Like getting oil automatic pick up and drop off. So far I have to stop shipping on auto convoy and make them pick up oil and resources. In other games I am playing I do not have to do this.

You want them to fix auto convoy? Be nice but I can't see it happening. Been unuseable up since PacWar.
