ouch 14,000 casualties .. nice try though . when they have rested .. maybe re-do the commders .must be some in rear areas that u can swop out and put on the front line. while chinese commabders generally suck , some are very good . also i recently read in the war room . have div HQ and area HQ prepped for the same place all add to the units there ..

RE: Allied CV Fleet visits Solomons
I did actually change couple of commanders in frontline at Kweiyang. Hmm, I read article about HQ's importance you mentioned Rob [:)]
1:1 odds are not bad but unfortunately not enough in this case. I will definately try later again since I want dislodge the enemy and start pushing towards Southern China.
The good thing is that I did not lose in China and that means he must have high amount of troops stationed there.

Yes, there will be heavy bombardment runs made by the bulk of allied BB's. These ships will start their bombardment operations from Baker Island. I will propably bombard Tarawa and Makin Atoll too since he might try to sneak in some LBA's.
Allied LBA's have made daily bombing runs at Apamama.
That's an excellent question which I would like to know too. I know that there are propably 80 000 men at Lunga. However I have bombed the daily for at least 2 months now so that must have eaten up quite a lot of supplies. (Hopefully)

There is no sign of Hawker "recently". It seems that he has gone AWOL.
I did PM message him couple of days ago with no reply.
Well, this game has been going on sloowwwlyyy... actually way too slowly.
I'am considering finding another replacement player who would be willing to jump into Japanese shoes and see this one to the end.

Yes, I hope that too. Hundreds of hours gameplay has been put into it so it would be shame to abandon it.
I don't know how difficult the situation is for Japanese side but I have problems on my own so as Hawker has stated in previous emails the situation is far from desperate.
As said I'am open for takers and I would prefer someone who has actually been in this boards for a while and is reliable as I'am.

Good news to all readers following this AAR. The game will continued since FDR Lincoln has agreed to to jump into action.
Many thanx to him! [:)]
RE: Allied build ups continue...
I would say that is appropriate to post a screenshot from the Intelligence screen once we get this on going again.
Also it is obvious that I need evaluate the future operations since FDR is now aware of them. So, a lot of "brainstroming" to be done soon [8D]

RE: Allied build ups continue...
I've submitted the first turn to Aztez. I won't post here or read this topic once combat resumes in earnest.
The first thing I've had to do as Japan is eliminate all the automatic convoys that the previous players were using. I dont' trust the automatic convoy system at all and I want to micromanage that stuff. I will have to substantially reorganize and rationalize my economy, but that will take some time and I wanted to get started.
Japanese air units are a mixture of very high experience elite units and very low experience new units. I will shuffle these around to meet the greatest threats.
The Japanese navy including all of KB is intact. That will help.
China is a bloodbath and I'm not sure I can sustain operations there while holding off the Americans.

I won't make any posts anymore in this thread, but will start my own thread with some strategic thoughts.

New Emperor for Japan... Allied planning goes ahead...
As said there is new opponent in this one FDR Lincoln.
He had permission to read this AAR yesterday so he has an idea what I have been planning. This obviously means that some of the plans need adjustment.
We have played 1st turn and I will post the combat summary later but here is the intelligence screenshot which I promised....

RE: New Emperor for Japan... Allied planning goes ahead...
Game date is 11th of October 1943
Hopefully this time around we can keep up better pace and finish this game in due course.
Some plans need to readjusted since FDRLincoln is now aware of previous planned operations.
Here is the latest combat summary...
India & Burma
I have decieded to continue with the planned offensive towards Mandalay. My opponent tried to interfere with his airforce flying from Mandalay.

Ki-43-IIa Oscar: 1 destroyed, 4 damaged
Allied ground losses:

I have 3 squadrons of Thunderbolts to sweep these Oscar's. Hopefully the results will be good.
China
Some 70 000 Japanese troops are heading towards Chengtu. I have been bombing these forces heavily in past two days.
Day Air attack on 22nd Division, at 42,30

Australia, NZ & South Pacific
Ships have left Nanomea Atoll. This means that the invasion of Apamama is underway. These troops will hit the beaches within next couple days.
The bulk of the allied CV Fleet is also in the area nearby.
Allied heavy Bombardment TF have also sailed and will start bombarding the base immediately.
In the meantime LBA's have continued to pound the airfields at Apamama.
Day Air attack on Apamama , at 86,92

That concludes the latest turn of actions.
Hopefully this time around we can keep up better pace and finish this game in due course.
