Looking for Japanese Oppenent

Post by KDonovan »

Looking to start my 2nd PBEM game. Have one currently going in Oct 42' as the Allies against Miller41. But the game is starting to slow a bit, so i can take on a 2nd game. I'm looking for a pretty leisurily pace, something like 2-3 turns a week, sometimes more. But will definitley require that we play 2 day turns. Currently at beta 1.795 and looking for a Dec 7th start. Other options and house rules will be open to discussion once i find someone. Email me at epicwave17@hotmail.com, or just PM me.

I am up for a slow paced game as Japan. Here is what I propose:

2 day turns so we can finish before we die
allied/japanese sub doctrines on
Fog of war on
allied DC advantage on
Dec 7 surprize on
Historical 1st turn off
Player defined upgrades: on
variable reinforcements off
animations off (take too long to due a turn)
combat reports and summaries on

House rules:

No allied orders on 12-07-1941
Auto victory will be overridden on 01-01-1943 but will be assaumed to be in effect on 01-01-1944. This keeps the Jap player from going for broke and winning at the end of 42 but keeps the allied player from running and hidding until 44.

No Japanese landings on the other side of Singapore (including India) until singapore has fallen

Sub transports can only unload at freindly bases (to prevent recon by sub)

Japan can only make 1 port attack on Dec 7th, 1941.

Aside from this everything is fair game (I bomb Chineese resources, you make evey plane into a B-17 ect.) Just to let you know I play ahistorical and consider WiTP a game and not a historical simulation. Some people have a problem with that. I am just looking to have fun. I will not abuse the Dec 7th suprize to go after carriers but I will hit Manilla.

All of the above are negotiable and I am open to suggesntions for additional ones.

My experience:

This is my 3rd PBEM but none lasted more than 4 months game time before me opponant had to drop out.
I have played 2 long campaigns 1 Allies 1 Jap against the ai and the 45 campaign as the allies against the ai.

I should be able to do 5-7 turns a week depending on how much time "She who must be obeyed" gives me on the computer.

We should be a good match since I am originally from the Philly area (Norristown/Audubon) and now live in New Jersey. Going to see the Phillies on April 7th.
