Scenarion Review (Wild Bill)

Post by Sgt Rock »

Well, I said I would provide you with the final outcome/ playtest of our game of 'The moment of Truth - 43'.

When I last commented, I was just in 'deep' on top of the Russian held hill. We have just completed the game, the Germans etched out a tight victory. Only at the first block of the city did the Russian defence disintegrate completely, having used up all their reserves. Up until that time, the combinitation of the Russian AT defense, mines and the god awful mud made every armor move a tip toe affair. In the end I had more disabled armor laying behind the line of attack then in it! A frustrating yet exciting outcome (gee, if I only had those 6 disabled tanks from the hill I could...)

Overall, both of us must commend you for this great scenario that we found a nail biter through out. I have wargamed for 25 or more years, (since 10 yrs old) I dont consider myself a expert, but am comfortable on games. When I get excited during a game, I must say it is a good one. Thanks again... oh yeah, if you have any tips for advancing though mine fields, please pass one or two my way....

Here's a timp for the mine fields. Don't step on them!

Actually, even regular troops moving one or two hexes at a time in front of the tanks should find them for you. Then just wait for them to clear it or go around the field from a flank.
