Kicking issues

Post by Breeze »

I noticed these with version 106, American rules. It's possible that some of these were fixed in the new patch, if so just let me know.

- I was playing arcade witht he same team on both sides (testing uniforms out). The CPU punter only kicked it like 35 yards, but I was able to kick about 50 yards with the exact same punter.

- I kicked a field goal that appeared to go just wide of the goalpost, but it was still recorded as good.

- I missed a field goal and the ball was spotted at the previous LOS. It should have been spotted at the spot of the kick. (I should mention that I was testing a different kick play, where the ball is snapped back the proper distance, so maybe that's what caused this, it shouldn't though)

- Kickoffs were short by and large, but that may just be because I was playing in the snow.

Actually, I was waiting for somebody to bring this up. I was aware of this situation too. In the NFL, if a Feildgoal Place Kick is missed the ball is spotted where the actual spot of the kick is attempted. I actually never did like this rule and actually like Davids approach to this better. Why should a kicker be penelized a few extra yards if he misses? I like how David has put it at the Line Of Scrimage instead of the spot of the kick after unsuccessful Place Kicks. I hope you don't change this David even though its different then in NFL rules.

This is an NFL specific rule, and is not actually part of the American rules. It was put in a few years ago to penalize teams with good kickers who would try for too many long kicks.
