So... will scenarios built with COW be compatible?

Hi!

Just wondering if user based scenarios will have to be modified in any way to be compatible with TOAW: ME?

You will probably want to put them into their correct folder instead of the top-level one. If you're playing PBEM, you'll have some more options to negotiate. If you're playing the PO, you may have to adjust your difficulty level.

If the scenario has specific graphics, they'll have to go in the correct place.

If it uses a custom executable, you'll have to wait for someone to update BioEdit.

In other words, 'No, not really.'

so if we wanted to work on a scenario with the standard .exe it wouldn't be a complete waste of time?

unless of course it was one of the scenarios to be included in the new version?

I've been looking at tweeking the OOB's and TOE's of some of the small scale scenarios in Cold War Germany that have already been created. basically killing time waiting for the new version.

No, it wouldn't. I'd expect no problems moving to TOAW 3.

thats great Ralph. That's a nice touch. The money is burning a hole in my pocket.

There's so much more information available on the internet than there was when the game first sold.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing. Luckily this is a friendly crowd. I've seen some forums turn pretty ugly, and grogs are known to be persnickety. I remember 'Old Salt' and the war-historical newsgroup years ago.

I only go back to a Steel Panthers group at compuserve. I wasn't nearly as active (or productive) as some of that group. Andy Gaily went on to bigger and better things with SP.

If this old stuff takes off... Is anyone looking at updating Age of Rifles?

That's one game I really miss.
