Some observations

Post by nmleague »

Have run about 4 quick games some person vs CPU and some CPU vs CPU. Here are some observation.

1. This is a wish, please allow some way for a CPU vs CPU game to continue through to the end without stopping at the end of each quarter and requiring the continue button to be clicked to continue. With the amout of time it takes for a game to be completed I would like to start a game and come back later and have it be done. As it stands the current fast sim engine is useless so the only way I can sim a league is CPU vs CPU play.
2. Flipping defenses results in a misalingment. Example, when using a 5-2 defense that was set up to one side, the DT and NG are head up on the C and OT, when the defense is flipped to the other side the DT and NG are now in the gap to the side of the flip, not head up.
3. Very nice, the team in the lead is now running the play clock down on each play as the half or end of the game near. But this still needs work, see below.
4. The end of the half and game AI needs work, I have seen the following.
- A team down by 10 points with less than two min. remaining punts the ball on fourth down.
- A team with a lead (see above) with less than two min. in the half, are moving the ball down the field. They are running the play clock down on each snap. They get inside the 20 yard line with about 17 sec on the clock, instead of calling a time out or lining up for a FG they let the clock run out. On the other side, their opponent down by 3 points with less than a min 30 remaining, and the offense moving the ball, is calling timeouts.
5. If defensive audibles are suppose to be called the same way as offensive ones, they arent working.

These said, I must say that this game is really starting to look outstanding, keep up the good work.

I haven't messed with them much yet, but can't the Playbooks Profile system handle these issues? It does look very similar to how Football Pro does its Profile system.
