Heh, and in that thread David also didn't comment on the sim method...I don't think that's a good omen for the chances of this feature in the near future, but I'll add a begging smiley just it case it'll help [&o]

I tried to look that one up, but I couldn't find it. I'll have to do another search.

As I recall, most of us on the old board were not all that happy that the sim method was going to be reworked. We were weary that the sim results would not be like the game results. Do you recall that as well, Tbird?

".....I'm going to expand this dialog when I get around to putting the old simulated game system back in place. But for now, it just lets you select how many games you want to simulate at a time..... "

This is a quote from David when he released the test beta version .122
I hope this means he is going to put the slow sim back in the game. Has anyone heard anymore about this?

Well, that is very encouraging news that he is considering putting the old "Slow SIM" feature back into the game. Thanks Dave!

Yeah really, I have seen some very odd results with the sim method in game right now. This is REALLY needed.

Some have said that a 60 minute sim would be of no benefit. There is one benefit. Unless that is a change when one watches a game, he must go click a button at the end of each quarter. A slow sim that took just as long would allow the simmer to start the game and come back an hour later and find a finished game instead of a game that ran for 15 minutes and sat on the first quarter stat screen for 45 minutes.[:)]

Ive been thinking about this, and what I have seen in the game when simming a game. Most games dont seem to sim a game play by play, as this game does, but uses an abstract sytem based on stats alone. This game seems to be getting the results from individual plays, just really, really fast. If thats the case, then simming it slower really shouldnt make any diffeerence as far as results go, UNLESS the speeded up method has a flaw somewhere, which we cant really tell for sure, unless we have a slower verison to compare results with.

I could be wrong, and please correct me if I am.

The results are different

when playing out a game cpu vs. cpu as opposed to simming it

It's very noticeable in arena
I haven' tried it much lately because I let the games play out so ths might've changed in the last patch dunno.
