Soviet Corps Upgrades Mapping

Post by treespider »

I've been doing some testing with the Soviet OoB and the August Storm upgrades...

Turns out the upgrades start 5/31/45 with the appearance of the Soviet HQ's

Then Slot 2164 upgrades to 2nd Rifle Corps on June 2, 45
Slot 2165 - 86th rifle corps on June 3, 45
Slot 2166 - 5th Gds Rifle corps on june 4, 45

so forth and so on...

What gets interesting is... no matter where or what the unit in slot 2164 is... it gets replaced with the 2nd Rifle corps and gets moved to Borzya. It maintains the planning of the previous unit.... as well as the TO&E of the previous unit...I suspect the same will be true for all of the upgrades... however they don't all go to Borzya some get moved to other locations.

There are also some bugs associated with the upgrade vis a vis hex mouse overs and the unit lists that appear on the mouse over...

Has any one taken the trouble to map out the unit upgrades to determine the exact slot, date, unit and location the upgrade is moved to?

I see where Bliztk has mapped out slots and locations...unfortunately it does not include unit info or dates...

I think I found my unit answer...

There in the Manchurian scenario...(Scenario 7)

Now just which dates do they appear...

Unfortunately Bliztk's list is not complete as it does not include some slots. So far I am to June 10, 1945 and have found a couple slots not on his list

June 9 - Slot 2186
June 10 - Slot 2187
June 11 - Slot 2188

He probably missed these as the units are at Choybalisan and a unit icon does not appear on map. You have to go into the base to find them. In the scenario I am testing the original units in these slots were on the other side of manchuria.
