BTR - I cant wait !

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

BTR - I cant wait !

Post by zoul »

I used to play BTR until I switched to Mac. Now Bootcamp will make me go back to the game.
I loved this game and I miss it. But I had a lot of frustrations :
- Very low efficiency of the Mosquito in bomber or fighter bomber role and used to be shot down like sitting duck.
- Low efficiency of Mossies (again...) in the nightfighter role (100 Group and others).
- Overall, RAF escort used to perform very badly in comparaison with 8th AF escort.
- Low efficiency of Fighter sweep.
- Impossibility to add RAF escort on to 8th AF for the first leg or the last leg ( aka the channel )
- Political Missions happened too often.

It has been a long time and I forgot some.
From what I have read one improvement really needed would be the ability to save a mission for the next day, definitely.

As any one got the same frustration as me with the Mossie ?...

I hope you not saying your planning on playing BTR in bootcamp ?, oh my

I loved this game and I miss it. But I had a lot of frustrations :
- Very low efficiency of the Mosquito in bomber or fighter bomber role and used to be shot down like sitting duck.

that would be the Fighter Bomber bug, can't say it is fixed yet, but it is working much better now then it was

- Low efficiency of Mossies (again...) in the nightfighter role (100 Group and others).

when used as a Intruder, it can be very deadly, when used as a BC excourt, it, well, stinks, hopeing to find out why

- Overall, RAF escort used to perform very badly in comparaison with 8th AF escort.

other then there range, they should as well or better, you may of been getting caught on the way home, when they were getting low on gas

- Low efficiency of Fighter sweep.

Sweeps will be interesting, but still a case of being in the right place at the right time, but when they are, it will be interesting

- Impossibility to add RAF escort on to 8th AF for the first leg or the last leg ( aka the channel )

there was a work around for this, and we are leaving it in
we already have 2 ADGB off wings set up, which fly for the US
we looking at other options for what to do with FC/ADGB

- Political Missions happened too often.

depends, if the target is allowed to reach a point level, then the Manatory targeting will be in force, keep the targets below that level and you will be free to target what ever you want (LOL, yea right, easy to do)
Overlord and Avalanche are being worked on, to give a better Manatory commitment
there were some bugs in the reporting of damage to those two target types
there were some bugs in how the targets were being listed (those 2 fixes should help out a lot)

It has been a long time and I forgot some.
From what I have read one improvement really needed would be the ability to save a mission for the next day, definitely.

that is a option a lot of people would like, we are looking to see what we can do, but can't make any promises

As any one got the same frustration as me with the Mossie ?...

which one ?

the Mk N.F. II
the Mk N.F. XII
the Mk N.F. XIII

Do you think Boot camp will be a mess ?

About mossies :

- F.B.VI is where I had most of problem. Huge attrition rate. No self defense.
- N.F. II almost no success interception.

It's true that in night intruder role, low flying over the base it was working well.

Thanks for the reply.
