Mogami upgrade path(s) in CHS

I just noticed that there are two upgrade path's in CHS for the Mogami class CA's.

According to the extracted WITPcls155 file one starts 12/41 with class ID (UnitNumber) 11 the other with 14.

The upgrade paths are:
11 - 523 - 524 -525 AND
14 - 630

Except for the upgrade path I cannot see any differences for those two initial version (11 & 14).

So, why are there two upgrade paths and how do I know which one is chosen?

Mogami herself has been assigned a special class path to represent the modifications made (just to) her after Midway.

At the start of the war she was a standard member of the Mogami class, so the initial values are the same for her and her sisters. Her single upgrade path represents the long delay in returning her to service.

We could have renamed the class for her three sisters but decided to leave it "Mogami" as the class is so well known by this name.

This is not the only one, can you find the others?

I can but know that I understood the principle behind such changes I wont do the work. [;)]

One question remains though, the Mogami splits from the class' path in 1942 but never rejoins. I assume this is because she was sunk before further changes were applied to the class in '43. In our game this means an outdated ship in case she manages to survive. Wouldnt it be an option to rejoin the class path in '43?

In general I have a feeling that there are some classes that dont have upgrade options after '42 because the ships simply didnt exist anymore in the later years of the war. E.g. DD classes Ootori, Tomodzuru, Momi and Wakatake or the CL Tenryu class. On the other hand I dont have much background knowledge about the pacific theater, so I might be under the wrong impression here.

Mogami was rebuilt as a sort of seaplane semi-carrier. In this role, she was fairly well outfitted. Provided only you WANT a seaplane semi-carrier, a different question entirely. I would recommend putting the E16 and later still the M6A1 on her - that is if you are willing to play with the RHS plane set - which includes them. Nothing upgrades a carrier better than giving her better planes!
