Are things drying up now ?????

Post by elmerlee »

Not much new here in the past week and not a varried number of posters showing-up.

Are the regular patches a thing of the past? There has not bee much said lately by Matrix.

I note only 170 views of the "testing thread".That does not show a great deal of interest out there.

Thats a shame.Things were really beginning to improve. If smaller(??) things like time running out and no EP being allowed,KOR yardage still being credited to rushing,an inability to just let cpu-cpu run past quarters end without stopping were fixed the game might be good to go.

By the way - how is the "game-log" for accuracy.Does that show correct play type and yardage? If so;it would be no problem for 3rd party construction of a parser to develop a great stat keeping package.Anyone pay any attention to the game logs?

I hope things arent drying up, Matrix and David have alot of fixing yet to do on this game as well as upgrading certain things. Hopefully a patch will be released soon and maybe then a comprehensive list of things that still need to be fixed or upgraded can be determined. Yes the game has made great strides but it is not yet a finnished product, every time I sim or play a game I see bugs.

If you would read post in the Beta forum you would find this. Patience quit tring to steer up the pot.

"Yes, we're just sitting on it a little bit longer to make sure we give you a slightly more polished public beta as I released the last one a bit early.

Things are not drying up, the change list on the latest patch is around five times the size of the first official update, hence it's taken a bit longer.

Things are drying=up here

Well it's been 17 days - My Opinion

There is a pattern to the topics you are starting. Is there an underlying reason for starting threads of this type?

Board posts will ebb and flow over time.

There are maybe ten people making posts here that are 100% behind the game.Good for them.I wish there were 1000.

I stand by what I said.

Oh yeah - I see DW has answered a question about stats by saying typical stats are tracked.Does that include punting, scoring, kick returns, fumbles, fumble recoveries? Or maybe typical stats that games tracked when this project started 20 years ago.Typical answer.

The patch process here started very well.It has now slowed down, with due respect to the size of one now on the shelf, and the game is still unplayable. And worst of all the faithfull have really begun to leave.

The game is playable

The punt stats, qb scramble, and the kick returns

hopefully after those bugs are squashed Dave can start adding more to the game

but the Game itself is very playable [:)]

Hi,

It's playable, fun, creative, and while waiting, you can practise the plays. The game will only get better not worse.[8D]

What about the question I ask on stat keeping?

What about the question I asked on what the game log contains.

What about the question I ask on patches.

Never any answers.Just excuses.

Is this "five times larger patch" coming from the novel idea of a post release beta or is there already an idea of what is in it?

Oh he**,now I'll never get an answer.

I've started to buy this game over and over but every time I just think I just can't be THAT gullible.

Because when people see your posts they automatically think it's just you talking trash about the game. If you would ask in a polite manner maybe people would answer your questions. I'll see if I can get you a gamelog after I get out of work or maybe someone can beat me to it.

Sorry I'm not a fanboy and if that it the reason it is counterproductive to MF community and the game itself.I'm not an FOFC guy as some suggest and never posted there.

Here is a game log. I understand if you quick sim the log shows only the stats, but I have never done so and cannot say for certain.

Thanks Deltadog.

Nice to finally see one of these. It is better than I expected. If the log is accurate it would be easy to write a utility to grab some stats.Things like who penalties were on,how often a player was the intended receiver, return yardage, kick length, play effectiveness, etc.

What is really missing are down, distance, and yard line numbers.Likewise I don't understand why the returns and punt yardages are not recorded is the summary. These are such simple things but I'm sure they will get no attention while all the bug fixing is going on.

Yes, the 'quick sim' apparently doesnt record all the play by play stuff in the log.
Hopefully David can add this later, or another sim option that allows for it. Little things like this are what turned the FBpro series into such a huge deal with leagues and such.
