Has anyone tried adding Depthcharges to dedicated ASW aircraft and if so with what result.

My dedicated ASW Q1W1 carries 2 depth charges. So does my K Class Blimp - although technically it is not an aircraft. Time will tell. I expect the blimp to work well and the Q1W not to be effective. Both have MAD. But only the blimp has sonar - if you can call what we do in WITP sonar at all. Whatever you call it, because the blimp is a disguised ship, and ships find subs using different code, I pretend it is sonar. [Real blimps did use sonar - not dipping - sonabouys]

what factors did you use to represent MAD in the device table

It took me half a year to figure it out: in code terms, MAD is simply surface search radar with a range of 1 (because, to code, submarines actually are wierd surface ships which can submerge sometimes). Because of problems telling wreaks, subs, surface ships, you name it, apart - (probably iron ore on the bottom) - reliability is also not great.

FWIW, I have had the pleasure of working with several modders in the past couple of years, and "El Cid" has totally impressed me.
He came in relatively recently and started proposing some really radical things, (which seemingly shook a few feathers), but having seen a lot of his work and ideas formulate, I am convinced he is not only PROFESSIONALLY knowledgeable of what he speaks, but very giving in his attitude of openness and his constant requests for OUR input.
Please note that he has posted more often in the past year than some of us have in 4 years.
Looking thru his posts, one will find he is not into self-promotion, nor "friendly spamming" whatsoever, but is very business-like in his constant effort to improve the game for all of us.
Again, I am convinced.
He has been kind to share his work and ideas (by direct e-mail) with anybody who has requested it, (if he felt they had any semblance of technical/ historical /gaming knowledge to be in a position to comprehend the quality/effectiveness/practicality of his proposals.)
While my peculiar "expertise" is with WW2 era planes and land units, he did share his MAD and ASW simulation ideas with me, and in his patience, explained them to me in depth, (to where even *I* could understand him.).[;)]
As he has tried to do it, I am sure it will work, historically, within the limitations of the game.
In the past, I asked for blimps as they were so prevelant for that war.(I was denied, and given "game" reasons they could not be included).
El Cid figured out a way to include them.
In the past, I asked for the Japanese (first totally ASW plane in the world) "Lorna" to be in the game, and was given "game" reasons they could not be included.
El Cid has figured out a way to include them.
Sid is willing to make the attempt, and is willing to listen to anybody for input...................
