Was bigger than the one you picked on ya big bully! Yeah, pretty huge! A couple of thoise Bbs have over 10% system damage judging by thwe smakoe pouring off them! Wish I had one BB and a few DDs waiting for you! They would have kicked your butt! (You know about the Kung Fu issue regarding surface combat and how small TFs usually outperform larger TFs due to the one for one firing sequence?)

Got that right! Anyway, I'm now officially out to kick Jap ass! You bombed my favourite sub, Tarpon! Serves the subs right for staying on the surface all day but still!

"Oh look, is that a Jap plane?"

KABLAMMO!

"Missed me! Here it comes again. Should we dive Captain?"

"Hell no! Clark Gable doesn't pay aircraft no mind in Run Silent, Run Deep."

"That's just a movie that won't come out in for 13 years Captain!"

"Damn! Here he comes again! Dive, Dive!"

"We can't dive, Sir. For some reason we can only dive during certain phases of each day, and the air search phase is not one of them."

"Jesus Christ and John Paul Jones! What the hell kind of way is that to fight a war?"

my favourite sub is really soggy right now. Remember, Allied Damage Control is NOT on in our game. Doesn't look too good.[:(][;)]

I hope in any "Enhancement Pack" 2by3 finally addresses this aspect of the Uber CAP issue. The following three attacks are arguably simultaneous (same squadrons from same airbase attacking different TFs in the same hex...same issue occurs with multiple LCUs in same hex) but because the target selection and split comes BEFORE CAP resolution, the strikes are being treated as uncoordinated and CAP gets a crack at each individual strike split, theoretically the CAP is in multiple places at once, in this case three places. The strike split due to target selection should come AFTER the CAP resolution to alleviate this design booboo.

A massive Japanese effort from Bangkok arrives over Rangoon and a huge airbattle takes place. Tied to the bombers flying at 8000 feet, the covering Japanese fighters are pounced on from high CAP fighters. A 2:1 kill ratio is achieved by the RAF fighters. Massive losses thanks to the bloody minded air model. Bill might curtail any more attacks for the time being as Oscar IIs are no match for Spitfire Vs and even the older Hurricane Mks.

Not a good result. Weda is a size 2 airbase at the moment and any damage will delay its development into a major base capable of handling torpedo armed Bettys. Being one of the few bases in range of the Timor Sea keeping it small is desirable.

I am not sure how long it has been since I recommended turning off "expand bases" in unneeded/unwanted areas to eliminate wandering supply, Ron. Have you noticed if it worked?

New patch is installed. So far so good on reduced sub spotting from what I have seen. The land combat report makes things better with the final strength reported.

The big test will be if the Auto Convoy works now. There are to many lone ships being sent out. There are some bases that have never had a supply convoy bring any supply. I am still not sure why bases that are out of the way are sent masive amounts of fuel when it is not needed.

Hi there. May have because one of the bases I turned the expansion off has not increased the supply yet the main base a few hexes away has massively increased its supply levels. Thanks again for the tip and I'll let you know if there is any real change.

...TIMMY, the AI assistant, has appointed his step brother NORMAN to run the auto convoy department.

Well, you have lost a whack of escorts![:D] Is NORMAN responsible for all those single merchants my subs keep stumbling upon?[;)]

Careful about what you wish for...

Well, I wanted Bill to divert some airpower away from Java and he did just that. Now we have a huge meatgrinder over Rangoon/Moulmein that I am currently losing. I will win the battle over time but it is putting a dent in my plans for the area.
