One thing though i had sent out the revenge before tjiljap fell, the piccie today is of her

cap cover from soerbaja ( wont stop an escorted attack )
i doubt she'll get back though[:(]

Brtitsh surface combat units now concentrated in derby, i may send it to perth as
escorts or keep 3 seperate BB divisions as a timor fighting defence.

a whole Marine division into the pit eh? Should be interesting to see what happens. Your CV's at Perth must be accumulating some SYS time with all that steaming!

RE: Rob vs. 2ndACR .. Divine intervention needed
I dont have the sys numbers at hand but all american CV's left perth at 0 sys .. same with the brits from colombo .. so its very low sys all round iirc. I havt yet accumulated enough transport for the 2nd USMC .. although im prepping .. might be a mistake if he jumps noumea .. but what the hey .. its a game [;)]
noumea recently got 72 P40's .. and several NZ kittyhawks arriving soon. another 64 B25's training in aukland if i need them too.
with the 7th australian almost at PM .. he'll have to decide where to go here .. no weak points left i hope .. I cant hope to defend it all against a concerted effort but i can make sure i only lose 1 more base here ..( thats the plan anyway )

sorry for the delay , both Scotty and I have been very busy of late .. his work and me trying to keep

flying escort. i've placed the dutch fighters back to escort so i can attack better capped targets
. he's awful close to kragen ! .. and because of a japanese attack my dutch regiments halted in place damn. looks like the dodgy movement system may be the undoing of java.

hehe yeah. imagine para dropping on pago where the american CV's went to early on before any ground troops arrived .. IJN Yorktown[:D]... ohh the whining .
Only reason i thought of it is the rule in WIF (world in Flames) where you can capture foreign shipping 10% of the time. the italians always seem to get the richlieu oddly enough.
Also agreed, the DB in its current form certainly couldn't handle it. Although i like speculating.

NOW thats what i call a serious hit, shame this never launched when he was approaching
else his landing forces would have been toasted. Now he's got the imp guard , 18th div and
one regiment at kragen it cant hold. im pondering wherther to run back to soerbaja before
i get cut off. However i think its too late anyway .. he'll advance from maleop to prevent kragen from withdrawing, leaving only 2 regiments for the defence of soerbaja.

RE: Rob vs. 2ndACR .. Divine intervention needed
A couple of quiet days passed ..
his 1st assault on kragen failed much to my suprise. 2 1/2 divs vs brigade and a bit. prepping helps a lot though. I've taken steps to move the very experienced bombers out of soerbaja to timor. his helens have been way too quiet for 2 days and must be repositioning .
also laid is a hurricane trap over wuuchow .. although i have no great hopes for it .
just in case of mass helens ive moved 72P39's to soerbaja as anti bomber shooters . also i have a lot of them in pools unlike almost all other allied fighters.
eek .. its june wheres my spits ! .. july 43 ! eeks .. ok i get 20mm cannon armed hurricanes but i liked the spits a lot ( although i guess not historically deployed in numbers )..

Allied Ships
SS Triton
Japanese ground losses:
27 casualties reported
humm .. base force for truk im guessing , i'll try and persue but it's guesswork
He's spotted my 180 hurricanes at wuuchow .. retired to kweileain .. no sense risking them
Wuuchow is too close to jap lines ,, 60 AV support sent back to kweilein .. so i can base more
bombers here .. and the IL4's are back on anti shipping duty from chungking .. long shot tho.
Clarks still hold despite me shock attacking him .. i want to surrender here .. or he's training
for free.. 3 units gave in yesterday .. and im shocking all the time ..
He made a quick grab for batavia .. but incompetance ruled all round here
1st i assumed it was the paras that arrived .. nope .. full brigade lost badly
2nd he forgot to attack the following turn to avoid the forts
3rd .. see below.. i'd recovered ..
Ground combat at Batavia
Japanese Deliberate attack
Attacking force 9642 troops, 84 guns, 20 vehicles, Beginning Assault Value = 229
Defending force 12452 troops, 93 guns, 7 vehicles, Beginning Assault Value = 107

D3A Val: 1 damaged
Allied ground losses:

i am hopeing to kill some valuable navy pilots
OK .. SW PAC .. namely Port moresby .. ive decided to stand here ..
7th aussie div has arrived and im loading the 6th in townsville today .. is this
a good idea ? .. supply loading up too seperately. also another 30 AV support now
the AF is level 4 ( total 60) (i'm low on AV in the SW pac and east australia)
Thursday island is now building quickish .. ill do a screenie tomorrow. but i inadvertanty
loaded a 90 av support for here instead of a 30 .. so i can place a good fighter cap
when i get enough a/c that is.
noumea has given up her 72 P40E's .. heading to brisbane , then to N aussie .. probably.
and 2nd USMC .. closing on sydney and home base darwin .. will tane soem time to get to
timor .. but i might just squeeze it.
ANNOYING !!!! bloody churchill ordered a CV back (2000PP's)[X(] if i dont thats 3+ months
of PPs ( he wants 2 DD@s too .. and hes' not having them for sure) CV formidabe heading back
from perth to karachi .. unfortunately. shes the smallest one at least. i'm still not sure
whether to give back or not, as the DEI is almost dead , only a few units need rescuing
and i can do that before july when ill get the hit.
ANY ADVICE ?
ive never been asked for a CV before .. ok BB fine ( old R class) .. but i want my CV to stay.
the cost might be prohibative.
i dont suppose CVL hermes will do ? being in derby i doubt she can make it back anyway in time.
anyway he's a piccie of whats at PM now .. also ive stripped tazmania and all unist prepping for
PM in brisbane (30ish) as a suprise extra. the tazzie CD's are already in noumea/luganville.

RE: Rob vs. 2ndACR .. Divine intervention needed
Hi Rob,
You asked for advice. It might be worthless, but here's mine:
I'd hold the 6th Aussie Div in reserve at Cairns. You have enough at PM to stop a quick raid and if he plans a big operation, he'll telegraph that by taking Lae/Salamua, etc. Meanwhile the Div will be in a non-malarial base and you can fly in most of it if you need to. It also leaves it available if he doesn't go for PM and an opportunity for a counter-attack opens up.
Re the Admiralty wanting a CV - I'd tell them to pi$$ off. (Hermes won't do it - if Winnie wants her he'll specifically request a CVL.) You get Seafires this month. It could be worse - in one game I'm playing (May 42 start) I sent Hermes back in June. In August a CV was requested, September a CL and now another CV in October! My decision was a little easier though since I'm short 3 US carriers in that game - no way I'm giving up another. [:'(]
Good luck!
