Air not targeting Artillery

Version 1.087 PBEM. I attacked Scotland with 5 fighters and 5 bombers. Scotland was occupied by several infantry, several AA guns, and a single artillery. After AA was fired, I still had 6 plus planes around. Not a single one bombed the artillery, focusing on the AA and infantry instead. Is this a bug or just a long shot possibility? I thought artillery should be a priority target.

Planes pick targets before the effect of AA fire is known. Thus the two planes that had the ART targeted was likely shot down by AA fire.

Its intended that way. Otherwise it would be impossible to protect ART from airial bombardment.
