BTW - they are forecasting some similar weather for tonight... Let's hope nothing so bad.

Worst stuff that hit was winds (destroying some trailers, buildings) and "softball sized" hail (about 10 cm, i guess - for our European friends.) Getting hit by one of those would ruin your whole day. Some injuries reported, but no fatalities (AFAIK).

no,...."TAB" is traditional. Diet Coke is the new generation along with Coke Zero

i meant "traditional" for purposes of this experiment - i.e., it worked once, so people keep on using it (without experimenting with other sodas).

BTW - this MIGHT be a video of it (at work, so can't see it directly):

Yup - pretty good show.

Finally got to watch this masterpiece - no shaking required!! They took pains to drop all the Mentos in at once - and he had a fountain of Diet Coke that was quite impressive... there was about 1-2 inches left at the bottom after it spewed about 12 feet into the air![:D][8|][:'(]

i just showed this to my wife - she said she had seen this on the local news as well as Discovery Channel News. Discovery Channel tried this experiment with about 6 different kinds of soda - Diet Coke worked the best.

According to the chemist NPR talked to, it is a matter of the carbonization collecting on the irregular surfaces of the Mentos...

This game does not have a learning curve. It has a learning cliff.

A quick tithe before heading out into this beautiful 72F/22C, no humidity, not a cloud in the sky weather to spread a little mulch and Roundup some weeds. We get maybe two days like this every year. Mostly it's 95F/35C, 50% humidity and a thick haze that makes the sky look like old tennis shoes.

Works ok for me - but requires RealPlayer to work, i think...

You can go to NPR.org and find it there.

try this archive - you can click on the video link beneath the pic:

Calm before the storm...?[;)]

Anyway, the reason that women are the stronger of the sexes:

The other day, I was talking to the Polish girl in my business school class. It was the day after Easter break had ended, and since she's Catholic, she'd been home in Poland to spend the holiday with her family. 16 hour trip by car each way.

Now, because of said 16 hour car trip, she's having trouble sitting still on her chair in the class room, and because it's a warm day, she's wearing a tank top. A low-cut tank top.

The equation:

Attractive Polish girl + warm day + low-cut tank top = her breasts jiggling up and down = me staring at her chest instead of her face while she's talking to me.

Mind you, it's not like I'm ashamed of it, any more than a shark would be ashamed of eating a surfer. It can't help itself, and neither could I or any other man.

The thing is, though, that I could actually hear my synaptic processes grinding to a halt, and afterwards I couldn't remember two words of her story about the trip.

Robin Williams said it in one of his shows:

"God gave you a penis and a brain, and only enough blood to run one at a time".

Now, if God had only given us a toggle switch, so we could actually decide which one to run at a time, but He didn't. Oh, He made the switch, but He gave it to the women instead.

And that's why women are the stronger sex. They hold the toggle switch.

I could get banned for this, ...... but:

I like it when a woman holds my toggle switch. [:D]
