Mogami might have to go

Post by mogami »

Hi, Perhaps I should wait for the results but I think it is rather amusing.

If I can pass the physical old Mog might be taken back onto active duty.

How many active years do you have? I seem to remember 13 or 14. I think it's a great move. Get your 20 and then GET OUT!

My civilian advice to my Marine brother before he was deployed to Bosnia...

"When in doubt, duck!"

My highest regards for you Mog. Thank you, and good luck!

Now, wait a minute, people. Ain't nothin' in this post says "active duty" involves a branch of the Yew Ess Military. My guess is he's signing up with the Pilsner Urquell brewery as a taste tester. ("So, Mog, what do you do to cleanse your palate during a hard day on active PU taste testing duty?" "Well, I usually have a couple of slices of pepperoni pizza.")

Rough life. Oh, and just in case you ARE contemplating remarrying Brown Bess, I'll pass along the best advice I ever got right before entering a combat area: "Keep a tight butthole" (I understand this also applies when entering that seldom-used facility, the USMC barracks showers).
Put my faith in the people
And the people let me down.
So, I turned the other way,
And I carry on anyhow.

Hi, I don't know what the proper course would have been. If I kept quiet and had to go I would only have one short "Bye" post. If I kept queit and did not go then I would not be embarrassed.
I need 6 years to get my 20. The Army has offered 6 years Combat engineer but I go to the sandy place.
If I get my 6 years I solve alot of my future problems.
I may not get in. (If I was betting I would bet agianst it)

I really did not want to just vanish without a trace because I hope if I do go Matrix keeps my account active.
If I am able I will send photos to Lee who can keep a "mogami" log.

I'll try to write a very boring AAR

Todays was the 3rd I think by the 17th I'll know one way or the other.

I'm not sure the British Army has ever (recently - last 30 years) considered re-enlisting ex-squaddies. I could say that's because they have the Terrirtorial Army (which they rely on very heavily) but you Americans have the National Guard...or are they just an "internal" army? Do your National Gaurd ever get sent abroad?

Well good luck anyways...I hope you get what you need and keep safe.

And if you go to "the sandy place", may God be with you.

The Guard gets sent abroad all the time; Guard troops operate in Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. They have to; not enough active-duty troops.

Well, for one, old man, you wouldn't have had a vet who is in Another's Service praying for you if you had just disappeared, or at least praying as much. For another, Someone would have started a search which would have utterly consumed most of the energy of the board, and no one would have played much. Finally, you would not have received the gratitude and admiration due one who puts himself back into the breach again.
