On page 68 of manual v2.2 which is the same for v2.3 it states that you can change one or more of the countries that you oppose.i played three battles my selection was germany vs polish, french and anzac over the period of 1942 aug-1945-june the number of battles was 40.the manual says that a screen should appear to allow these changes after each battle i'm still in 1942 and no such screen has yet appeared.

you mention further down that you have to select the same country 3 times and the changes will take place in the following year, but further down the page you also mention you can change the 3 opposing forces to 3 different ones and also half way through a given year.

i'm not quiet clear in this old mind of mine as to what exactly to do or if its a bug,can you please clear this up for me.many thanks for a awesome game guys

ps tried picking india as one of the three enemys twice and the game chrashed out to windows when i went to the deploy scren first time since i have had the game hmmmmm?

is there a work around for getting the sound back in fast arty as my card never had a prop.

cool game veeeeeeeeeeeery (this is the thrid time i have posted this subject with no replay i no you are very busy but i need some help many thanks guys your doing a fine job)

Gotta answer something so you don't feel ignored Image

Ivan, perhaps no-one plays campaigns with different opponents? Image i've yet to start a campaign..or i did in v. 1.0 but then I read about all bugs and decided to stay with scenarios. Perhaps now it would be a time to try.

As for the fast arty I think there is no workaround. The wav file is still there so it seems the order to not use it is coded in.

Hey Ivan,
YOU ARE NOT ALOOONE! In V2.1, I got the modify campaign screen. I skipped V2.2. In V2.3 am on battle #6 vs 3 opponents and no modify campaign screen yet.

Have not tried India.

Have not had any problem with the fast arty sound. But starting with V2.3, SP/W@W crashes with the music track on. This happens after continueing past the campaign setup screen, before chooseing core. Did not happen in V2.1.

I am not bothered by the lack of sound track, in fact, if any one is actually reading this. How about fixing the installer so it will load on a PC without a sound card?

Well I did start a campaign using the campaign generator. Playing Germans, start mid-39, end late 40, 15 battles, opponents Britain, Poland and France. I win the first battle, go to the fix/refit screen, then the game asks me *western or eastern front* and whatever I choose it tells me "war is over" and ends the campaign.

Guess my major victory in the first meeting engagement was so fearsome the allies capitulated Image I would've liked to play some more though....

Save still exists if someone at Matrix is interested.

Hello...

We modified the the campaign generator routines. It was supposed to work this way. At the end of every battle, you would get a screen which would allow you to change the three countries that the game randomly chooses from and it would allow you to change the basic terrain, such as desert, mountains or forest. The India crash was because there were only 99 Indian names, instead of 100. This made the random name generator point to byte 100 hex, which is where win.exe is located. Windows did not like that.

The theory behind this modification was that the player could create a campaign of all World War II with countries not covered in the Long WW II Campaign, such as Italy or Rumania or he could create a theater of operations, like North Africa and play 100 or more battles there.

We are currently retesting the routines to make sure there are no bugs in them. The India bug has been fixed.

Gotta go, working hard on version 3.0.

Bye...
