Actually it's 2 .. ramilles and resoulution .. both now heading back to Derby since my airfoce was completely destroyed in one engagement !

Day Air attack on Koepang , at 28,77

Japanese aircraft
A6M2 Zero x 84
A6M3 Zero x 69
Ki-46-II Dinah x 1

Allied aircraft
Brewster 339D x 17
Hurricane IIb x 34
P-40E Warhawk x 82

Japanese aircraft losses
A6M2 Zero: 19 destroyed, 4 damaged
A6M3 Zero: 24 destroyed, 9 damaged
Ki-46-II Dinah: 1 damaged

Allied aircraft losses
Brewster 339D: 11 destroyed
Hurricane IIb: 31 destroyed
P-40E Warhawk: 65 destroyed

I dont want to even count that up ! .. bye bye any attempt to fight over koepang.

all remaining a/c flown back to derby .. many more damaged however.

Japanese probe on darwin too

Day Air attack on Darwin , at 36,84

Hurricane IIb x 11

Japanese aircraft losses
A6M2 Zero: 2 destroyed, 1 damaged
G4M1 Betty: 3 destroyed, 19 damaged

Allied aircraft losses
Hurricane IIb: 5 destroyed, 1 damaged

I've railed up a few more hurricanes from the east coast ..

The day started well with a good sub attack and 2 more mine hits ..

You made an right choice to move out those BB's.

Seems to me that your opponent brought in some more experienced pilots and you really got burned [:(] Are you able to move out any aircraft from Timor? (Let's just hope he does not naval bombard the base next turn)

he didnt and i still have cats flying .. no sign of a BB group here. pulled out all that could fly and got new a/c in derby .. one advantage of this is i will have a lot of spare pilots in these groups from now on .. so fatigue is way less.

with no a/c flying 20 betties hit the undefended transports .. bombing from soerbaja 2 hits on one AK . the buffalos set to low CAP just to stop this kind of thing.

Also cleaned out all unneccariry bombers in derby to allow more effort to be made on teh fighyer groups . don't know if it'll help ?? ..

looks like japanese CV's appeared 300 miles east of port moresby .. lots of CA reports .. good i finally got advanced notice , the transports turned round once again ! ..

Hornet reduced to 13 flooding .. speed 5 knots with 80 sys damage .. i dont think sydney will help with repairs and the yard is too small .. might just stay in brisbane with the AR's . and see how quick it repairs.

One oddity .. with the new 1.8 cadre evac limit .. i had moved out some of the asiatic fleet from manilla earlier to derby ( 4 squads) .. not expecting this to grow ..

anyhoo .. asiatic fleet with 230 odd damaged support squads re-emerged in san francisco .. ?? very odd .. not complaining though ..

Im doubtful about sailing the 2nd marines to koepang now i lost air cover .. humm thinking hat on ..

Yes. It will be fun to get that game continued. It is actually my 1st PBEM I have started.

10 turn "peace" was a right thing to do. Basically it doesn't hurt me either since my troops need a rest before committing to battle again.

I will definately keep out from that thread [:)]

Seems to me that this AAR will be peaceful soon unless you have some big offensives planned?

Oddly enough ..

Japanese BB's sighted heading toward timor .. target ?? unknown

torpedo bombers alerted in lautern

And the Carriers sortie from derby. station 180 miles SW of koepang ..

2 surface combat TF's formed up and sent to the same place

IF he's coming to Koepang i plan on a big surface battle. using the CV's to provide LR CAP for the battleships. Ill not risk the carriers in an engagement .. derby is well covered with a/c so i can run back if needed ..

4USCV's + 2 British CV's ..

we will see ... hummm

This could be exciting... Or maybe it will blow over.

I know where Baby KB is - do you know where KB is? How do have your CVs organized (1 TF, multiple TFs?) Have you had enough time to upgrade any of the FAA to Seafires yet?

Good luck!

Havnt got seafires yet .. come along later in this mod .. do have sea hirricanes and martlets (f4's)
on the british carriers ..

ok im being a bit rash here BUT

tomorrow will bring one huge battle one way or another ! and its all happening round Koepang

allied Cv's divided into 3 broups with 2 Cv's each .. no enough escorts for 1 each and
have 2 SC tf's ..

Plan 1

2 BB led SC tf's head to koepang / do not retire .. inc Repulse/POW/resolution + another brit R class.
both tf's c 15 ships in size with british DD's where possible for the night experience.

3 CV's tf's stand off one hex .. 3 fighter groups set ot LR Cap the SC ships .. ( might be a mistake here but we'll see next turn ! ) All bombers on naval attack. if it goes to plan they can catch damaged ships heading back ..

CVL hermes sories at full speed to this location as a dummy CV group and has 12 swordfish
to add if i get lucky ( i.e goes to plan)

Lautern aircraft failed to launch but patrols only show BB's here no CV's ??????

KB is unknown location .. I have a sinking feeling its part of this hideous group
but live and learn .. he's away ish from LBA ..

Lots of Subs vecored into any possible withdrawl path .. more sorie damaged from darwin
and derby

No additonal a/c placed in lautern .. if he bombards well they get slaughtered for no use ..

maybe rush in tomorrow if it goes well/ or badly ..

Pic reveals the deal .. poor graphics on it ! ..

I'll post more screenies when the action occurs ..

British night fighting vs japanese night fighting should be interesting .. both
SC groups under british admirals too .. best i could find .. 60+ exp etc.

fingers crossed !

It seems that we are about to see clash of Titans!

Intresting to see who will get the better of it in this naval battle. [:)]

Allthough I have an feeling that KB is supporting those enemy BB's or at least some elements of KB... good luck! [:)]
