Units in the game that intercepted V-1?

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Units in the game that intercepted V-1?

Post by BigDuke66 »

Will units that played a "Home Defense" roll for London be in the game?
Sounds good but without V-1 for them to intercept players will use them for other things(not historicall).

So for my taste they should be out at least for the time they played that roll.

Or can we have some V-1?[:D]

Well........

again, hassles with in hassles, as not all, units were "just" home defence, they also flew Off Patrols and other missions

we do have a number of units that are pulled out of the OOB that were on Home Defence, or duty in 13 group

units that I have found that did double duty, I have added/kept

ahhhh, right now, I can't say that they are in or they are out, or that it may need to wait for one of the patches, the idea was to try and get them in, not sure when right now

Perhaps a unit withdrawal for V-1 protection duty? Simmiliar to RN ship withdrawal in WITP? Perhaps it could be done with units lost for a couple of days then others lost? Probably too hard to set up with the game basically being completed years before being released again.

well, again, the hassle is still not in withdrawing the units, it is how the units were used

one of the units on V-1 duty was a Night intruder unit, it flew missions during the day over the bay of Biscay, it flew missions at night over France and Germany and it also flew missions at night looking for V-1s

I have also pulled some of the units that flew the High Alt Spit intercepter, I could make the plane model with no hassle, but it does not fit the game, I not going to give the Allies a plane that can just reach the coast (which kind of makes me mad, as my favor GB unit is locked up with them)

so over all, there are a lot of units "missing" from the overall OOB that could be in there somewhere, but were doing other things at the time

LOL I got one, it was flying Stang I's, then changed to Cane IV's, then changed to Cane II's (but could not reach the Holland coast from where it was based, then got the Stang I again, but was used for recon over the coast of Norway looking for shipping, then got the Stang III and was turned into a fighter unit, I have held this unit out, until it gets it's IIIs

there are going to be a lot of, this could be in, or this really should wait, or maybe this should be doing this

there is another unit, that starts around this time in Stirlings, changes to B-25s and moves to 2nd Tac, about a month later, it changes to Mossies

overall, I felt the player needs another level bomber in 2nd tac more then a Mossie raider, so I added it as the B-25 unit, now the player can change it over to Mossies if they want, but I plan on leaveing it as a 25

so over all, we got choices with in choices and hassles with in hassle, we are right and we are wrong
