My wife is a teacher and I have considered running for the school board on the Darwinist ticket. Some kids need to be left behind for the good of the herd. Costs 8K a year for an average kid but 30K for a special ed kid becuase they each get their own aid and are put in the regualr class room. I say stick them all in retard room with one teacher and save the $. Besides, it will boost the kid's self esteem to be the smartest of the dumb kids ratrher than the dumbest of the average kids. The other option is to let the parents pay the differnce.

After that I would make all athletics club sports and let the parents pay for it. No need for my tax money to go for your kid to play with a ball. Public education is for education, not for sports. Let them go to clubs outside of (and not costing) the schools and the taxpayers.
To an extent I agree with you. I knew someone that taught at an "Alternative Highschool" that had no extra-curicular activities at all. They had the highest graduation rate in the state, with some of the most troubled kids and once the kids actually got into college (they tended to have trouble because the school didn't hand out letter grades and therefore had a hard time calculating a GPA) the kids had some of the highest success rates in the state. If they wanted to play football or something they had to find somewhere else to do it.
and that I have a bad tendancy to speak my mind. [:-]
Forget politics then

As a side note, lawyers should be shot, hung, beheaded, electrocuted, drowned, pommeled, run over, steam rolled, dropped from a plane, struck by lighting, lethally injected, made to sit in the first row at a comedy show, burried in sand with only their head exposed until ants ate all their flesh from their face, fed to the fish, fitted for cement boots, burned-extenguished-burned again, encased in Danish cement, crushed by a falling piano,...ok, I feel much better now. Given the way Terminus is feeling these days, he just might feed YOU into the cement.

Dispite my negative professional dealings with them I feel compelled to come to the defense of lawyers. In many ways they are like cops; They are all lousy until YOU need one, then they are the greatest person in the world.

If I had actually studied before the LSAT I might be one now.

It's been interesting to watch, generating two theories on motivation. [:D]
