Run-time error '3021': No current record [Resolved in Next Patch]

Post by kmac »

Shaun,

Just downloaded PS2007 - I've been playing PS 2005 Gold Edition V 1.0 and have had no problems with error codes - unfortunately, when I attempted to create an almanac, the game crashed with the following message:

Run-time error '3021':
No current record

[:(]

I tried a few more times and watched the steps the almanac went through and here's what I saw:
  • Extracting player photos (worked fine)
  • Creating index page (worked fine)
  • Generating player index (worked fine)
  • Generating teams pages (ERROR 3021...CRASH!!!)
Any idea why? My league has been fine with no problems with PS 2005 Gold Edition V 1.0 - before copying my league file over to PS2007, I had an expansion - is that possibly why the game is crashing at the "Generating teams pages" step of the almanac?

I'm going to copy the previous seasons league file over (before expansion) and see if there is any difference - thanks!

Hi,

Moving this to support. Are you by any chance running the Beta Internet Explorer 7? If so, please revert to Internet Explorer 6.

This sounds like it may be due to an incompatibility with a PS 2005 league that expanded...

Can you do me a favor and send me the association so I can confirm that the new expansion support coming in PS 2007 1.1 will rectify this? You can zip up the file and send it to me via www.sendthisfile.com mail it to shaun@puresim.com

Also, just to rule out any install issues, and to confirm my theory, can you quickstart a 4 team association, let it run for a few seasons, and check out the almanac feature?

Thanks.

Erik,

I am running IE 6.0 -

Shaun,

I copied over the previous season's files - and the same thing happens - it crashes in the same spot -

Also, I noticed that when I click 'modify roster and lineups,' the lineup includes my minor league hitters even though the 'toggle expanded view/ boxes contains the major league hitters and pitchers (the pitching rotation does include the major league pitchers) -

Should I just continue playing my old league in PS 2005 Gold Edition V 1.0 and create a new league to play PS2007 - or should I just delete the whole folder for PS2007 and reinstall it?

Shaun,

I started a 'quick association' liked you requested - after a few seasons, the almanac worked great - so, it looks like the problem may lie within transfering older associations into PS2007 - the file I'm sending you via sendthisfile.com is almost completely sent - just wanted to let you know -

Bustoff is your association from a previous version of the game or brand new. (I'm assuming it is from a previous version)

OK, I was able to repro this and it was in fact related to being an old long time PS 2005 assn that had gone through expansion. Unfortunately I have some bad news. The Almanac will process, but certain aspects of it will not be 100% filled out when using associations that were created in PS 2005 *and* used expansion. Sorry.

I'll add this fix to the 1.1 release. Thanks for taking the time to send the file!

Shaun,

Thanks for the taking the time to figure out this issue on the eve of the release - also, did you notice what I had stated earlier about the lineups?
Also, I noticed that when I click 'modify roster and lineups,' the lineup includes my minor league hitters even though the 'toggle expanded view' boxes contains the major league hitters and pitchers (the pitching rotation does include the major league pitchers) -

Does that have to do with the same bug as the expansion bug?

The system stated the following:
Your lineups and rotation have invalid locked role settings. Please make sure the amount and configuarion of your locked-role players result in valid roster and lineup configurations.

Then, the game had me clear all the locked roles - afterwards, the major league players returned to the lineup and the minor league players returned to the minors - looks good now - I suppose I should have cleared all the locked roles in PS2005 before bringing the file over to PS2007 -

Depends on testing, and I'd like to have a few more days of release to see if what crops up. Probably within a week.

Expansion non-compatibility

Post by motnahp »

Based on this thread, I'll wait until the patch is released before generating an almanac for my large association from PS2005. Unfortunately, I feel that I just drove my new car straight from the lot to the garage[:(].

motnahp,

There's no reason not to give it a try, it should still be quite safe in 2005 Gold and there's no guarantee that any issue reported here will be common or frequent.

I had already, in good faith, made my purchase. Words such as "full compatibility" ring a little hollow with we now. I now have another issue for the "garage".
