Run-Time Error 94 [Resolved Next Patch]

Post by Lamoid »

Run-Time Error 94 - Invalid Null

I get this error when trying to build the almanac in Puresim 2K7.

As a result when I go back into the game, many of the areas of the almanac do not display.

Help would be much appreciated...

A few questions to help me diagnose...

Real players or fictional?
Was the league created with PS 2007 or a previous version?
To rule out environmental issues, can you quickstart a 4 team league, run a few seasons and see if the Almanac builds ok in that scenario?

Fictional players
Created in Puresim 2005 (Free version I believe)

OK, well I took your suggest and the almanac builds perfectly...

Any idea how I could continue my old season with 2k7 though and still have the almanac?

I've put too much work into this league to just drop it

Sure, there may be some artifacts in the data that I can tweak the code to ignore.

1. Zip up the association file
2. Send it to me using www.sendthisfile.com (its free) shaun@puresim.com
3. I'll have a look, I'm sure there is something I can do. I wasn't trying to imply that you should drop the association, just trying to help diagnose the problem.

I had the exact same thing with one particular player card. It did not affect other cards. Strange. I already zipped up the assn. & sent it to Shaun, so he can either fix or Kevorkian it[:)].

Lamoid,

How did you create this association? A large number of the players have no first names, and other odd issues with the data.

Did you hack the Lahman database or something when you created it?

Also, what player card can I open to test the error you are reporting?

No, I just created it normally but left the first name slots empty.

If you want to test the error I recommend trying to rebuild the almanac as player card crashing is sporadic

As for the odd data...you couldnt be referring to the names of the team and players could you? [;)]

I was able to run multiple seasons on the 1.1 version so it looks like we have this nailed. That said, I was never able to duplicate your playe card issues..

My 12 year old son usually hangs out with me when I am testing and fixing and he found your association to be hilarious. Great names! You made his night :)

1.1 is coming soon!

Ha!

Well some of the names are a result of late nights spent thinking of names.

So when is 1.1 coming out?

Sean, I got this same type of error.

I imported a league midseason from Puresim 2005 Gold. I completed the season in 2007 and in the offseason it started generating the Almanac. It looked like it was doing it for individual players when it got the NULL error. This is a 28 team league with fictional players that just completed its 8th season.

Now I can't do anything with the league because I didn't go through the amateur draft or free agency at all. Should I send it to you, or is it dead?
