Keen to Play WITP but Cannot get Game

Post by pccitgo »

How on earth does one get hold of this game? I live in Auckland New Zealand and no computer shop stocks it. I placed an order with Atomic Park last Thursday to download the game from Digital River however after completing the order form for just the game at $70 US I have yet to receive any email from them. I did the "where is my order" thing and found they had given me an order number and added the unwanted download insurance ($7US) to my order, (I had changed the one to a zero in the shopping cart). I then rescinded my order with a view to reordering. Again no mail from them so I emailed support@matrix (twice) and they have not replied either. I think I can see why some folks turn to pirated copies. I would rather pay the people who sweated to make this game but boy they do not make it easy!! I dont want to order from somewhere else and then find this Atomic crowd wake up and charge my credit card. Anyone else had similar problems?

When I ordered it from Matrix/DR, I just clicked on the Digital Download and downloaded it.

I then used the Serial Number from the order to activate the game.
I had no hassles doing this (was over 18 months ago)

I downlowded it from an Aussie location, and only paid about $70Aus for it as well.

Go to the Matrix Games page and try it again

Bloody Hell, AUD$94, they are either making a killing or not selling any, hence piracy on the South Sea is rife.

I ordered a hard copy direct from Matrix when the game was released. I had no problems at all.

btw when you do get the game, be prepared to say goodbye to a large chunk of your social life for a while...witp is addictive!

Corrected your typo for you, Freddy. [:'(]
This game does not have a learning curve. It has a learning cliff.

Any bugs I report are always straight stock games.

Well, I decided to risk it and went ahead and ordered from the Matrix site and the transaction went thru in seconds. Patches loaded and up and running. I spent much of today printing off the manual and update document. I guess there is a heap to learn just to operate the game let alone developing strategy. Dont be surprised to see a few questions from me from time to time. I have already found the Spookys fansite so that should be a great help. When I feel confident I will try a PBEM which I used to do years ago with The Talonsoft American Civil War series.

[:D] The thing is, its actually true. There are times when I've simply had to stop playing for a while. The 'just one more turn' syndrome often turns into several hours.
