The allies are outnumbered, but achieve some success, although all allied ships suffer various degrees of damage. LBA then raids the enemy task force, with an occassional paint scratching hit.
The British carriers, that had sortied the night before, turned round the island of Ceylon, and attack the enemy battlewagons, Hiei sinks under no less than 5 torpedoes.
