Was the commitment at Truk worth the losses. Also, how much of the IJN fleet will make it back from the Indian Ocean. I know you have taken losses, but it looks like you have hit him pretty hard.

Truk is an important location, that is needed for my (classified) future plans.
As far as his Indian ocean adventure, he lost (probably) one battleship (Yamashiro) and had one carrier (Shokaku) damaged. In his previous raid he lost a second battleship, Hiei. Against this losses, he sunk all of the British carriers in the Indian Ocean.
Now it is true that the Brit carriers have not been too effective, due to their small air arms, and also because they have been used in a very limited fashion, however I'd say that it was worth it for Japan.

Thanks for the reply on my Truk question. No need to divulge secrets, You never know who is doing sigint[:D][:D][:D]. Looks like you have taken out quite a few aircraft. Also it does not hurt to take out battleships since it cuts down on bombardments.
