Colonial Wars 1950-64 Database

Post by sirius »

Hi Guys,
My name is Paul aka Sirius the Colonial Wars Database Author.

The Colonial Wars database covers the period between 1950-64.
This is an era where missiles were taking over the role of air defence and anti-ship,
Jets were starting to make there mark in Korea and over the deserts of Egypt during the 56 Suez crisis . In all a period where the Russian Bear was starting to flex her muscles and the United States was taking over as the "Worlds Policeman" .
I will at a future dates update the db with further platforms and scenarios's,if you are unsure when building scenario's for ships names alot of the infomation is on the web site if not contact me on Mirc or the forum as I have wide source of infomation including Janes Fighting Ships from the 1960's.
If you find any problems let me know I will try and fix them. Enjoy the DB I have in scen testing and platform building.

BTW, will DB2000 and the other DBs currently hosted on HHQ be compatible with ANW? Or they will remain Harpoon 3 compatible only?

I've answered this in the FAQ.

Yes, I saw the answer, but my question was about the compatibility of DB2000 and the scenarios written for DB2000 with ANW. Will we be able to load DB2000 *as it is* into ANW and play one of the scenarios now published on HHQ, or one of them or both will require a "ANW compatible version"? And, if the latter is true, does HHQ plan to publish such version? (the question is true for the other DBs hosted on HHQ, of course - for example, Sirius already stated that his Colonial DB's scenarios are already loadable into ANW without the need of further tweaking).

I feel that surely this is an interesting question for a potential buyer: "will one of the biggest collections of scenarios published for H3 3.6.3 accessible to me if I only buy ANW?" After all, one of the strenghts of TOAW 3 is that all the scenarios written for the previous version will be compatible with the new engine.
