Question on AI - Bug?!

Post by Ironsman »

I am playing the Super Dreadnought Scenario. I am playing the Allies, AI as Japanese. The Japanese took Midway. Then two months later the Americans took it back. Since the re-taking of Midway Japanese supply (and tanker) convoys keep showing up (six in a month of game play). Easy pickings for the American forces defending the island. Can the AI adjust to the capture of a base? Should this be happening? Do you need more information?

Thanks

Hmmm, what patch file is it (v1.0, 1.13, 1.15, or 1.20)? Also, have you destroyed a large portion of the Japanese navy? Sometimes the AI does do things like that, but it is usually to land small expeditions to test you strength, or to draw out your navy.

Ver. 1.20 It is game turn 3/5/27. I have sunk 281 Japanese ships. Naval loses have been 3CA, 1CL, 46DD, 5MSW, 2ML, 1AD, 2AO, 2ML. The rest where AK's, AP's, TK's, There was a fleet action when Midway was lost in 8/26. Battleships Arizona and South Dakota where lost by USN. Japanese have not lost any capital ships some have been damaged. Midway retaken in 12/26. Japanese capital ship in some cases have been active. But it seems a lot are sitting at Wake (the main IJN fleet base).

Hmmm, that's odd. Try bombarding Wake Island, and see if they come out. If they don't, send me a save and I'll have a look.
