Can we get a scenario list?

Post by Executioner Five »

How about a list of the scenarios that will be in the release?  That would be great :).

Ask, and you shall receive...

It's a MS Word doc file.  I don't think it would show up too nicely, if I tried to cut and paste here.  Go ahead and download it and review at your leisure.  There are some some scenarios that are found more than once in the game.  For example, three of the tutorials use TOAW Classic scenarios.  The other uses a special PO-enabled version of my Anonymous Heroics scenario, the PBEM version of which exists elsewhere in the scenario folders.  JL Betin's scenario exists in both English, and French.  Enjoy!

Edit: David asked me to upload this pdf version instead.  This is the version that will ship with the product, so if you want a little piece of the finished game, here it is!

2nd Edit: New, cleaned up copy of the pdf version.  Contrary to the previous edit, THIS is the version that will ship with the finished game.  Back to spit shining...almost there![:)]

Thanks JAMiAM.

Don't thank me.  Thank Bob Cross (aka Curtis Lemay) next time you see him.  He's the one who did the hard work of compiling it.  I'm just leaking it...[;)]

It's already been released.  We've decided to first release to the International Space Station.  As soon as the next supply mission returns, you should be getting yours...[;)]

Amazing that I am this excited about a game I've already bought twice (OPART and ACOW) but I look at that scenario list and I'm ready to lay out some more dough on this game.

If it turns out well I may fork out for East Front for the 3rd time as well. [;)]

Not to discourage you or anything, but you are aware that virtually all those scenarios are already available for COW? It's the changes to the game that matter.

Sign me up!  A great list, especially considering that I'm paying for future support...

Absolutely correct, although the work done by the scenario evaluation team in winnowing out the best ones, and giving them a standard header is not to be overlooked, they put in a lot of work. I believe that we went from about 500 down to 130 finalists.

Daniel McBridel's also got updates to some of his scenarios that make them more playable against the PO. That's almost worth the price by itself.

And I would like to add, that for us poor souls in the different parts of the world, who received only the localized versions published by talonsoft (and never a patch), the new releases are a great opportunity to join the international community and enjoy the great work of the scenario designers for the first time.

P.S.
Stop publishing these promising movies - I cant stand the waiting anymore

(Ok, I realy had no more hope to play anything besides the default talonsoft scenarios long ago, and now you unsensible people woke up the old desire again)

You do know we're providing French and German versions of the basic program, right?

I'm all over it. I read thru the interview and the game changes look interesting, although not groundshaking.
Quite a few of the "new" scenarios I have already pulled off the net and played. I do like having it all in one neat little package and the option for support and easier multiplay games.
I still have ACOW on my PC but it is buggy with XP. Looking forward to some smooth gameplay. [:)]

And I know matrixgames will do it the professional way, all local versions will be updated and compatible to upcoming scenarios.

But i am happy already, if an english version is available!

Perhaps anybody remembers the talonsoft way
"local patches will be available after translation" (but poor talonboys had very poor language skills and it never happened [;)])

I beg to differ: the French translation (can't speak for the German one) wasn't bad at all. It just needed some tweaks here and there to be up to date. Not that I expect the updated one to be bullet-proof perfect though. [;)]

True, but that will begin to somewhat fade as designers post TOAW III updates to their work, once they have the game in their hands.

The same is true for the german translation. It varied from elegant translation to too literally translated phrases and terms. Most of the work already done was good.

Hey marc, there will be more work to come for us with the patches...

poor language skills is solely related to the mentioned talonsoft statement: patches will be available after translation

I do not want do disrespect the original translation work
