Player Progression

Post by Nothingman »

I don't know if its just me but it seems I have bad luck with player progression. Usually 90% of my players get worse from year to year. Now I understand older players generally do lose some contact and power but even my young guys usually get worse in the off season. Is there a trick I'm missing here?

Have you read my strategy guide over in The Locker?

If not, see Strategy: who do I put where in the minor leagues?, give some of the ideas from that a whirl, and if you're still having trouble post again.

If you've read that and are still struggling, can you give some examples? Tell me his current 'big three' ratings, his potential, which way the potential arrow is pointing, and his age, and what level of majors or minors you had him playing at, and I'll tell you where he'd have been in my organization, and what factor or factors I'd guess contributed to his decline.

That was a great read, Amaroq and exactly what I was looking for.  I'll give those strategies a shot over the next few years.  It looks like they will work for me but if not I'll be back.

Coolio, glad to help - and if you come up with something I missed, whether its something that I claimed but your experience leads you to doubt, or a trick or tip that I missed completely, please feel free to add on to the end of that thread!
