Ammo Boxes disappeared

Post by Dragoon 45 »

In Enhanced, I was using the editor and bought some ammo boxes. I renamed them to Food for a wagon load. Then Playtested the scenario and had a halftrack icon show up when the ammo boxes (food) were unloaded. Went back into the editor to find out what happened and the ammo boxes had disappeared from the buy menu under the Misc cat.

Any Ideas?

What nation were you using to buy the Ammo Boxes/Crates from? I tried doing what you did and had no problems; the Ammo Crates icon showed correctly.

Could be a corrupt steel.prf file; I had a sound issue yesterday that had the Japanese rifles sounding like small cannons. Deleted the preference file and everything's ok now.

I remember that whenever we upgrade the mech file, we need to delete the old game and the prf file, before we start another new game.  I think it was a common advise during the old version.  I think all of us forgot that.

I was buying the Ammo boxes from the Soviet MISC Menu. I have got something called a ZIS-6 Halftrack showing up in the OOB now. I will go thru and delete the steel.prf and see what happens.

Let us know if it fixes the trouble. Otherwise I'll look into the Soviet OOB for that unit.

I deleted the steel.prf, didn't do any good. I misspoke a minute ago. The suspect unit is a ZIS-42 and the editor says it is a halftrack and is in weapons slot 242. In the same scenario I was editing, the Soviet Infantry Platoon HQ was replaced by a T-37 light tank.

All this is happening in the install that I overwrote the files in to install the Enhanced Version as I could never get Mod Swapper to work.

dont know why ammo boxes disappear sometimes but they do, I uninstall mod and reinstall and they are back.

The Zis-42 is an APC Tracked, unit slot 242.

sounds like you may not have gotten all the shp files copied to SHP folder

Wait a minute...you said "weapons slot"? Did you mean "unit slot"?
Again, I tried this, buying Ammo Crates under the Munitions Sec in the MISC Purchase screen. Renamed them "Food", put them in wagons. Began the scenario, moved the wagons, unloaded. All "Food" units appeared correctly as ammo box icons.

Could you send me your scenario files? I'd like to take a look at this. It could be a bad OOB file you have...
