Imported Association Roster Expansion?

Post by cdvalenta »

Hi -

Not sure if this has been asked in another post somewhere. I finally downloaded the game last night and imported my association from 2005 no problems. Is there any way I can change my association settings so I can now use the full levels of the minor leagues?

I am really enjoying the new animated ball flight and crowd noises. They are just little features but they make managing the games a lot more fun. My wife thinks I'm crazy when I see a high fly and start yelling at the computer "Go, go, go get out of here!"

Great work Shaun!

Yea I'm kinda surprised by the silence, but I'm sure when Shaun has a chance he will let us know... He's usually great about getting back to us fans about stuff so I'm not too worried.

Hi, if you were playing with 50-man rosters or greater, you should have 3 levels of minors.

If you are looking to enable expansion for your association, then access the "Options and Utilities" dialog from your association's home screen and then select the "Association Settings" tab. There should be a [x] Enable Expansion check box.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Real life (kids just got out of school) and my real job have been dominating my time this week.

Hey Shuan, thanks for the reply. Don't apologize at all, I don't know of any other developer who takes customer support as seriously as you do- and it's truly appreciated. Probably the main reason I upgraded to 2007, to be honest.

Anyways, unfortunately the roster limit is 35 (because that is the default for imported 2005 associations). The three levels of minors are showing up, but they are kinda pointless because I can't sign more than 35 players (10 minor, 25 major leaguers). I checked the expansion box... so far nothing, is this something that won't work till the end of the season? Thanks so much for your help, hope you enjoyed your trip (although business trips can sometimes be the antithesis of fun)...

Right, you'll be prompted between seasons.

Ok I think I might not have explained my question well enough :) I am not looking to expand the number of teams in the league (or tweak that in any way), I want to expand the number of players each team is allowed (from the 35 that it's currently at to ~45 or 50). Is there any way to do this without starting a whole new association? This is one that I have imported from 2005... Thanks!

I get you, you want to know if the roster size of the league can be increased once the League has been started (say from 35 to 60).

I would hope so, but have not been able to find it. My biggest problem with the game thus far is certain things must be decided at league start up, and cannot be changed later.

Roster Size, Pitching Rotation, re-aligning teams and moving teams between leagues are all things that should be able to be done once a league has been started (but only between seasons). I have a few ideas on this if anyone is interested....

Roster sized cannot currently be changed after an association has started. There are a some considerations here around financial constraints and the size of the player pool.

I guess the way it would have to work would be each team's finances would have to be scaled up by a percentage based on the roster size increase. The next issue would be then to (optionally?) generate a chunk of new amateur talent to account for the new roster space that needs to be filled.

I'm not sure if this will make it in PS 2007 but I am certainly seriously considering it.

I agree it would be great to be able to expand the rosters.

If you were able to get it in, I would love it. But I certainly can understand the difficulties with doing it. I agree with your methodolgy for doing it, but I have no idea if it can be easily accomplished. Until then, I guess I will start a new association. Thanks for letting me know!
