Two Tough Japanese Players Looking for TROUBLE!

Post by John 3rd »

Moses and I have decided to stop beating up on each other and beat up on OTHER people! [:D] We're rough and tough and ready to rumble!

We want to go for a conventional Campaign Game against two experienced Allied Players.
As many in the forum know, Moses is an excellent land combat player and I would like to think that I am a capable Naval strategist.

This is what we are looking at:
1. 1 day Turns against a pair of reliable, long-term players.
2. Player Definded Upgrades on.

House Rules
1. No 2E to 4E Upgrades--must be appropriate.
2. All 4EB cannot operate at less then 10,000Ft--preferably 15-20,000 Ft to reflect doctrine at the time.
3. Six ship ASW TF Max.
4. Max of 50 planes/Base Size.
5. Must pay appropriate Political Points.

It should be noted that we play a historical opening game. There will not be 2,000,000+ opening move invasions. We want to let the Allied Players feel like they are doing well at the start before KILLING them! [8D]

If you are interested in this challenge, please respond here and we will get back to you ASAP!

Should also note, we might like to run an AAR within the Campaign.

Be advised that ths will not start until the 16th when I get back from my vacation. After that we will be cleared for the summer and as both JohnIII and myself are in education we can maintain a pretty solid pace. We've been playing for over a year and despite the occasional anguish and despair that this game causes neither of us has given up. So its a decent bet the game will go as far as you want.

Since I'll be gone I'll let John take care of setting up the game. Stock map, everything stock, current patch unless a new one comes out in the next week.

As he stated we have played several games against each other and always have begun with a very rational first week. So while we think its perfectly fair to invade anywhere we please, we at least think that on the second day all our TF's should be in places where they could possibly have gotten too. I won't place any TF more then one days movement from Japanese held land. So you get a fair chance to set up a defence. Naturally other than China we expect that you not touch much of anything on turn one. Its a fair trade-off in return for us not invading 49 locations on turn one. You can move you're existing TF's toward where they want to go as long as they don't intefere with the obvious first turn ops, but thats about it.

After a fair start I am not inclined to worry about too many rules. While I will avoid any obviously gamy move I pretty much just play the game. The game can only be so historical and I'm not going to get too wraped up into questions of whats fair or not. So you want to put 100 B17's on naval attack thats fine. Just remember to stay away from my nuclear naval bombardment.[;)]

Anyway I'll send a turn to John on the 16th and he can send it to whatever player or team he wishes.

PS. you should know what you're doing on the ground.

Moses has stated things quite nicely. We tend to run a long-term, solid and reliable game. Our longest campaign had reached 1943 and we were enjoying ourselves. No reason not to expect the same here.

It is my intention to run an AAR from our side of the campaign so people can watch the goals, tactical, and strategic planning mature as time goes by. People will get to experience our true invinciblity, absolute cunning, and horrific capabilities! [:D]

I will monitor this thread until Moses gets back from his vacation. If any two people post here and then talk between themselves and decide to take a crack at us, that is fine!

Halsey, Dadman, and Nomad are potentially worthy opponents. Any of you want to pair with another and we can start talking some serious Turkey?

I will opt out, I really have no desire to play a stock game on a stock map. [:'(][8|]

Moses is a TERROR on the ground! Couple that to my innate superiority commanding the Kido Butai and you shall see a rain of ruin the likes of which has never been seen! (Imagine evil maniacal laughter in the background!)

There might be a couple freeing up in a short time from now; though, I can't speak for my partner as to his desire as of yet.
Sing to the tune of "Man on the Flying Trapeze"
..Oh! We fly o'er the treetops with inches to spare,
There's smoke in the cockpit and gray in my hair.
The tracers look fine as a strafin' we go.
But, brother, we're TOO God damn low...

Good Question.

Moses will handle most of the large-scale land combat and some of the Pacific action. I will command the Combined Fleet--Kido Butai and other elements--and work the Eastern and South-Eastern Theatres. We will cooperate and jointly plan out our operations. My hope is that this will be demonstrated thru our AAR.

Tabpub--Let us know if things are going to free up for you and your partner!

Anyone else?

It would appear that we have a campaign here with Moses and John 3rd vs. Tabpub and Capt. Mandrake. Will post more when this evil rumor manifests into reality.

Are Tabpub and CaptMandrake coming off of their August 1942 win as the allies?[:D] If so you guys may have your hands full. Good luck to all. I will watch for the AAR.
For what we are about to receive, may we be truly thankful.
