Cool. Glad my notes helped. You must now be looking for something really hard to play.

Go try the Rethymnon Historical Campaign as Axis with the standard reinforcement schedule (the default) which still gives you an ahistorical advantage.

A few weeks ago, I played it like that and didn't stand a chance. But perhaps you are quicker study than me.

That should have you banging your head against a wall. :)

I played that it again about a week ago with the "favor Axis" schedule and that got me a decisive victory.

I guess the Historical Iraklion scenario is similar to Storm Over Iraklion for which I am doing an AAR in the AAR forum... or maybe it's tougher since the Storm Over Iraklion features a full Regiment of Fallschirmjaeger.

Hmm, Hist. Axis Iraklion scenario was relatively easy, imho. Once you figure where the arty's coming from you can react accordingly. I bypassed with some troops to cut/disturb supplies, and to silence their arty. I could drive off the arty, and it rarely fired on day 4. Mortar crews bypassed as well, to be able to concentrate mortar fire. Grouped arty/mortar units (with "rest-after-bombard"-box ticked) deliver some evil barrages, and might save a surrounded unit's butt.

6500+ something losses on Allies side, around 490 among my paras. [:)] The map was enemy-free, clean like a baby's booty, like we say. [;)]

Hey captskillet,

no offense intended. It was meant to be a hint for your next (bigger) battles, and it was a broad hint that there are other excellent maps which are even more challenging. You'll have fun exploring all the details and possibilities in this gem. [8D]
